The New York Young Republican Club (NYYRC) held its annual gala over the weekend, hosting such Trump world figures as Steve Bannon, Corey Lewandowski, and British nativist politician Nigel Farage. Donald Trump himself did not appear, although he did give two different prerecorded speeches.
But the moment that went viral from the event was a Trump adviser, Alex Bruesewitz, collapsing on stage during his speech.
Bruesewitz, who is 27, was a reported architect of Trump’s strategy of embracing comedians and appearing on male-oriented podcasts, while also running an outside firm called X Strategies. Per The Daily Mail, he was speaking at the event when he began slurring his words and went on to collapse.

Per Fox News, Brusewitz was on stage to introduce Trump adviser Dan Scavino, when “he began stumbling over his words and fainted.” He had reportedly recovered backstage afterward,
“I talked to our friend Alex Bruesewitz and you know what he said to me? He goes ‘Did I at least look cool?’ I said Alex, you used gravity like I’ve seen nobody use gravity before in their lives,” Raheem Kassam, the evening’s master of ceremonies, said afterwards, per Fox. “But he’s recuperating back there, so give him a big cheer so he’ll hear you.”
Trump himself called in after the event.
“I know that Alex is going to be fine because he’s a tough son of a gun,” Trump said over the phone, per the New York Post. “There’s no doubt about that. So I want to say hello to Alex, because he’s a very special guy.”
While not the most prominent MAGA figure by any means, Bruesewitz got some press during the campaign as someone who helped Trump out with the young vote.

People point the finger at Alex Bruesewitz to @TimAlberta.
Bruesewitz had unsuccessfully tried to book Trump on the comic’s broey podcast.

“Bruesewitz has been the driving force behind the efforts to defeat Republicans who fight against Trump and the MAGA movement and works to replace them with Republicans who fight for the values we hold dear,” his bio on X Strategies says. “Bruesewitz also travels the country and globe giving speeches on behalf of the MAGA movement and is the author of Winning the Social Media War: How Conservatives Can Fight Back, Reclaim the Narrative, and Turn the Tides Against the Left.”
