A picture is worth a thousand words, but what about a mugshot? It looks like President Donald Trump has put his famous mugshot on the wall right outside the Oval Office.  The photo, taken when he was booked at the Fulton County Jail in Georgia in 2023, was seen in pictures from his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The framed image appears to be hanging in a hallway leading to a private area in the White House.

Dan Scavino, a political adviser and deputy chief of staff in the Trump administration since 2025, posted a video of Trump’s mugshot hanging proudly in the Oval Office.

Trump made history in August 2023 when he became the first U.S. president to have a booking photo taken. The picture shows him in a dark blue suit, red tie, and white shirt. His eyebrows are furrowed, and he looks serious.

After the mugshot was released, Trump used it to sell merchandise. His campaign printed the image on T-shirts, coffee mugs, and drink coolers. It became a powerful symbol for his supporters.

Many presidents decorate the Oval Office with historical portraits, American flags, and personal items. Trump, however, seems to have added his mugshot. Social media had a lot to say about it.

Russia’s state-run news agency RT posted on X:

“Wait a second: Is President Trump proudly displaying his mugshot in the White House hallway?”

Political commentator Steve Cortes wrote:

“President Trump has his mugshot hanging in the White House. Iconic.”

In the past, political scandals often ended careers. For example, Richard Nixon resigned in 1974 before he could be impeached over the Watergate scandal. But Trump’s approach is different. Instead of running from controversy, he embraces it.

His mugshot is not seen as a sign of shame by his supporters. Instead, it represents his fight against what he calls “political persecution.” To them, it shows strength. Trump himself has used the image to rally his base, calling it proof that he is standing up to what he believes is an unfair system.
