It looked peaceful and picture-perfect, but it felt out of touch with what is really happening in the country.
The internet noticed right away. Ivanka’s post was instantly flooded with angry reactions. Dozens of users blasted her for being wildly disconnected from reality.
“Totally clueless,” one user wrote.
“Eight years later, still so effing clueless and self absorbed,” another added.
“Completely tone deaf,” someone else chimed in.
“What have you achieved? Being born with a silver spoon in your mouth does not qualify,” another person said.
One user asked the question on everyone’s mind: “Do you really truly think about what you post?”
And it only got sharper from there.
“How does it feel to know that you, your children, grandkids and all of your generations are going to be punished for your father’s sins?” one person commented.
Another hit the nerve even harder: “HOW CAN YOU STAND BY WHILE YOUR DAD SYSTEMATICALLY TAKES OUR RIGHTS AWAY? I JUST WANT TO KNOW HOW? COME ON, GIVE US A REASON.”
One user cut right through the fog: “Why don’t you start with learning what integrity means and then YOU practice it. Teach it to your dad too after you learn, because no one with the Trump name has ever acted with integrity.”
Another user added, “You possibly can’t show your privilege any more than you just did with this post.”
Others pointed to the timing. “Yes or no? Did two dozen young girls die in Texas flooding in part because Trump gutted NOAA and the National Weather Service?”
A reply followed with specifics: “Yes. Trump’s 2025 cuts slashed NOAA and NWS funding by about 30 percent and staff by 17 percent, impairing forecast accuracy. Warnings underestimated rainfall, contributing to inadequate alerts for the flash floods that killed 24 and left around 24 Camp Mystic campers missing.”
This was not just a few trolls throwing shade. It was a collective response to privilege in action. As parents waited by phones for news from flooded camps and first responders pulled bodies from rivers, Ivanka Trump was out capturing golden hour.
Last month, the Trump family attended billionaire Jeff Bezos’s wedding in Venice. Ivanka shared photos from that trip, too—sailing on gondolas, glowing under Italian skies, and posing in floral gowns. While many Americans struggle to afford food, housing, and healthcare, the president’s daughter seems to be curating a lifestyle blog for the rich and famous.
