Trump Went On Unhinged Rant On Social Media, Attacked The Homeless

The president has announced a crackdown on crime in Washington.

President Donald Trump has recently shown a sudden interest in crime in Washington, DC.  The impetus appears to be a carjacking that took place earlier this month, in which one of the victims was a 19-year-old former staffer for Elon Musk’s DOGE. In the incident, police arrived while the robbery was in progress, and the suspects were arrested.

“We just almost lost a young man, beautiful, handsome guy that got the hell knocked out of him,” Trump told the press this week, as part of his frequent habit of referring to crime victims as “beautiful.” Trump even made noises about revoking Washington’s home rule and having the federal government take over the district.

Now, thanks to a Truth Social post, we have an idea of what the president has planned for his Monday press conference on crime and “beautification” in the nation’s capital.

The plan, he wrote, “will not only involve ending the Crime, Murder, and Death in our Nation’s Capital, but will also be about Cleanliness and the General Physical Renovation and Condition of our once beautiful and well maintained Capital.” He tied that in to a plan to renovation the Federal Reserve building.

“Muriel Bowser, is a good person who has tried, but she has been given many chances, and the Crime Numbers get worse, and the City only gets dirtier and less attractive. The American Public is not going to put up with it any longer. Just like I took care of the Border, where you had ZERO Illegals coming across last month, from millions the year before, I will take care of our cherished Capital, and we will make it, truly, GREAT AGAIN!”

In a separate post, Trump demanded the homeless leave the city.

“The Homeless have to move out, IMMEDIATELY. We will give you places to stay, but FAR from the Capital. The Criminals, you don’t have to move out. We’re going to put you in jail where you belong. It’s all going to happen very fast, just like the Border,” Trump wrote. “There will be no ‘MR. NICE GUY.’ We want our Capital BACK.”

The Truth Social post did not threaten any change to the home rule in Washington.

The Washington Post looked at whether Trump’s assurances about out-of-control crime in Washington are true. It found that crime is down from pandemic highs, but that high-profile crimes can affect perceptions.
