CNN Reportedly Won’t Run Pro-Trump, Anti-Biden Ad Because It “Has Been Judged False By Independent Fact Checkers”

They were not happy about this.

Democratic nominee Joe Biden has been very clear that he would only raise taxes on people earning more than $400,000 a year. Still, conservatives like RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel have been absolutely lying about that, claiming that the former vice-president would raise taxes on everyone. Trump and those in his orbit have been trying to paint Biden as a radical socialist, but that’s far from the truth — and networks aren’t going to allow that sort of lie to be aired just before the election.

CNN has informed America First Action (AFA) — the largest outside group supporting Trump’s reelection — that it will not run one of its new ads, The Hill reports. The network informed the group that the ad is false because it warns that Biden will raise taxes on the middle class, and it further suggests that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) supports socialist policies.

The ad claims that Biden “sided with socialists,” while showing pictures of Pelosi and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.). The narrator of the ad also falsely warns that Biden will “raise taxes on the middle class” and that “his liberal agenda will cost millions of jobs.” And that’s pretty bizarre since more jobs were created under the Obama/Biden administration during their first few years in office than by Trump during the same period of time. That’s just a fact.

America First Action claimed that the ad had been approved to run on ABC, AMC, Cooking, CBS, Comcast, DIY, Discovery, ESPN, Food Network, Fox, HGTV, History, Lifetime, and The Weather Channel — but, apparently that’s not true either. According to The Hill, an account executive at Warner Media said the clearance team rejected it.

But in an email to the outlet, an account executive at Warner Media said the ad was determined to be false by independent fact-checkers.

“WarnerMedia Commercial Clearance has not accepted America First Action’s advertisement ‘We Are America’ for its networks as the ad does not meet its commercial clearance standards,” the email reads. “Specifically, the ad asserts that Biden will raise taxes on the middle class. That claim is not adequately substantiated and has been judged false by independent fact-checkers. The advertisement also mischaracterizes Nancy Pelosi as a socialist.”

The ad was also submitted to run on TNT, another WarnerMedia property, and they rejected it, too. And of course, AFA accused the networks of censorship. That word, though, doesn’t mean what they think it means.

For those of us that know how to Google, Biden’s platform on taxes states, “As President, Biden will require corporations and the wealthiest Americans to finally pay their fair share. He won’t ask a single person making under $400,000 per year to pay a penny more in taxes, and will in fact enact more than one-dozen middle-class tax cuts that will finally give working families the financial support they deserve.”

There’s nothing radical or socialist about that, especially while Americans are suffering through multiple national crises.
