In the wake of Kyle Rittenhouse’s unsurprising not guilty verdict, the Right has (once again, unsurprisingly) made it their life’s mission, it seems, to turn the Kenosha, Wisconsin killer into a Conservative vigilante idol.
Rittenhouse, despite his sickening jury verdict, did very much in fact shoot and kill two people in Kenosha, Wisconsin during a Black Lives Matters protest in August of 2020. To say the very least, the country has once again been divided over the Rittenhouse trial and verdict — with the majority of the Right hailing him as a white hero, and the Left feeling sickened and discouraged, knowing that, frankly, had Kyle been a black young man, this story would have gone much differently.
But nevertheless, Conservatives are riding their high to the ends of the earth, and the GOP’s biggest embarrassment, Marjorie Taylor Greene, is once again pushing it way too far.
According to new reporting, Georgia GOP House Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has introduced bill HR6070 today, with the sole intent of awarding Rittenhouse with the Congressional Gold Medal.

Greene is sponsoring the bill “[t]o award a Congressional Gold Medal to Kyle H. Rittenhouse, who protected the community of Kenosha, Wisconsin, during a Black Lives Matter (BLM) riot on August 25, 2020.”
Thus far, the full text included in the bill introduced and sponsored by Greene has not yet been released to the public.
Of course, Greene isn’t the only Republican to publicly suggest that Rittenhouse be awarded some sort of medal or award for his “self-defense” killings.
Shortly following the not guilty verdict, Donald Trump’s eldest son, Don Jr., took to his Instagram with a heavily edited photo of his father awarding Rittenhouse with a presidential medal — a move that rightfully earned him serious blowback from Americans.
Of course, Don’s father isn’t the president, he can’t award a damn thing, and Greene is crazier than she looks if she thinks, even for a hot second, that bill is actually going to go anywhere. All these people are doing is very publicly reminding us all what absolute trash they really are.
