Highly controversial QAnon Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene effectively infuriated the nation today when she marked President’s Day with a pointed, disturbing tweet resurrecting her call for a “national divorce” in the United States, all but demanding that the United States of America needs to be divided by Red and Blue states and the federal government needs to “shrink.”
In remarks posted to Twitter bright and early this morning, the Georgia Republican House Rep. wrote, “We need a national divorce. We need to separate by red states and blue states and shrink the federal government. From the sick and disgusting woke culture issues shoved down our throats to the Democrat’s traitorous America Last policies, we are done.”
Greene also conveniently added that “Everyone I talk to says this.”
We need a national divorce.
We need to separate by red states and blue states and shrink the federal government.
Everyone I talk to says this.
From the sick and disgusting woke culture issues shoved down our throats to the Democrat’s traitorous America Last policies, we are… https://t.co/Azn8YF1UUy

As it stands, it’s unclear as to what prompted Greene to mark President’s Day with an open call to divide the country even worse than it already is, but nevertheless, this is far from the first time that the controversial conspiracy theorist turned congresswoman has publicly thrown her support behind the idea of a “national divorce.” Back in late 2021, Marjorie fumed over voters who she said brought “ruin” to the state of California and declared that they shouldn’t be allowed to do the same for an alt-Right state like Florida.

“All possible in a National Divorce scenario,” Rep. Greene declared in a December 2021 tweet. “After Democrat voters and big donors ruin a state like California, you would think it wise to stop them from doing it to another great state like Florida. Brainwashed people that move from CA and NY really need a cooling off period.”
While, again, we’re unsure of the driving force behind today’s tweet, Greene’s call for a divide in the US came after she spent the morning railing against President Joe Biden for his unannounced trip to Ukraine where he met with President Zelenskyy amid Ukraine’s ongoing war with Russia following Putin’s deadly invasion and attack. Greene once again claims that the president is ignoring domestic responsibilities in favor of giving more attention to foreign nations.
“Biden didn’t go to East Palestine, Ohio on President’s Day,” Greene raged on Twitter earlier this morning. “He went to Ukraine, a NON-NATO nation, whose leader is an actor and is apparently now commanding our United States military to world war. We must impeach this America Last fool before it’s too late.”
Suffice it to say, Americans came for Greene’s throat:
All who support Greene’s call to end the USA should have their US citizenship revoked. Period. #Traitors

We saw you try that on Jan 6 and you failed just like the traitors of the Confederacy failed. You really want to try again?!

You are free to leave our country any time, the rest of us actually cooperate and get things done while you squawk into the wind

Funny. 7 of the top 10 states reliant on the Federal government are red states. pic.twitter.com/O3dxPWEcSM

How about we compromise and just let the red states have an affair with their personal trainer?

The idea of a “national divorce” is apparently so fringe that even the likes of Steve Bannon can’t get behind it. The former Trump advisor featured Greene on an October 2021 episode of his podcast where Bannon pushed back against the entire notion.
“It’s something that I’m adamantly obviously opposed to, vehemently,” Bannon said on the podcast episode. “And I don’t even like some of these commentators starting to talk about it, for the simple reason we control two-thirds of the country.”
