Donald Trump Shamelessly Declares “We Have To Get Over It” In Response To Iowa School Tragedy

He actually said that out loud...

Disgraced former President Donald Trump ensured that he left nothing to the imagination with regard to his stance on the epidemic of school shootings in the United States when he responded to the recent shooting at a Perry, Iowa, shooting during his speech at a commit-to-caucus event in Sioux Center last night.

According to the ex-president, this nation as a whole just has to “get over it.”

“It’s horrible to see that happening,” Trump told the crowd during last night’s speech. “It’s just horrible. So surprising to see it here. But we have to get over it.”

The former president’s “get over it” remarks came shamelessly, despite the fact that a sixth grader was killed and five other students were left injured as a result of the shooting at Perry High School, according to law enforcement officials.

While the former president’s response to the tragedy was as appalling as it comes, it certainly didn’t come as a huge surprise, given Donald Trump’s track record and disturbing history on gun control — or the lack thereof.

Trump has remained staunchly anti-gun control and failed to enact any viable federal gun control policies during his tumultuous time in office, aside from a ban on so-called “bump stocks” — the very same ban that is currently tied up in relentless litigation after a Right-wing federal judge sunk his teeth into the policy, dubbing the ban beyond the scope of Congress’ control and authority.

Donald’s predecessor, on the other hand, made history when President Biden passed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. Biden’s policy was the first federal gun control movement made in 30 years, serving to strengthen the background check process and incentivizing more states to adopt a “red flag” law program that would temporarily remove firearms from the possession of individuals who have been deemed dangerous or high risk by law enforcement officials.

While President Biden’s laws are a far cry from all we need, it’s certainly a far step above the guy who said we just need to “get over” dead children.
