Adam Schiff Claims Pence Aide Has New Impeachment Evidence, But VP’s Office Classified It

Everyone in this administration acts so guilty.

What did vice president Mike Pence know and when did he know it? One of the individuals who listened in on Donald Trump’s infamous phone call with Ukraine’s leader was Jennifer Williams, a national security aide to Pence. After she submitted additional classified evidence to House impeachment investigators about the July 25 phone call, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif) revealed on Friday that the vice president classified it, according to Politico. But there’s more than one phone call at play here.

Schiff penned a letter to Pence to ask the vice president to declassify supplemental testimony from his aide, who is a veteran Foreign Service officer, about Pence’s Sept. 18 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and argued that there is no “legitimate basis” to keep the call a secret.

“The Office of the Vice President’s decision to classify ‘certain portions’ of the Sept. 18 call … cannot be justified on national security or any other legitimate grounds we can discern,” Schiff wrote to Pence, requesting a response by Dec. 11, according to the news outlet.

“Having reviewed the supplemental submission, the committee strongly believes that there is no legitimate basis for the Office of the Vice President to assert that the information … is classified,” Schiff added.

Schiff indicated that Pence’s aide recalled the relevant information about the vice president’s phone call after her closed-door deposition on Nov. 7th and wanted to convey it to impeachment investigators. The letter indicates Jennifer Williams submitted the supplemental filing on Nov. 26, a week after she testified publicly.

During Williams’ testimony, she said that she believed Trump’s controversial phone call with Zelensky — which kicked off the impeachment inquiry — was “unusual and inappropriate.”

So it appears that Williams has additional information, but the vice president wants it kept secret amid Donald Trump’s looming impeachment. And that doesn’t look suspicious at all.

The official impeachment hearing report also seems to indicate that Pence was “either knowledgeable of or [an] active participant” in Trump’s impeachable offenses. There are a lot of players in Trump’s scandal, and one by one, they’re all being exposed. We’d advise Pence to lawyer up, but he probably shouldn’t hire Trump’s bug-eyed personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, because he, too, is up to his neck in this administration’s corrupt behavior.
