Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka put forward a solution to Americans’ jobless woes. They should simply “find something new,” she said in a new ad campaign. Yeah, that didn’t go over very well at all.
Tens of millions of Americans are unemployed. The unemployment rate currently stands at 11 percent if you believe Trump’s Labor Department. And the economy is at risk of shutting down again due to the explosion of coronavirus because Trump forced many states to reopen earlier than recommended by health experts.
But Ivanka thinks unemployed Americans should just “find something new” as if none of them have actually thought of that already.
Her “Find Something New” campaign is part of an ad released by the American Workforce Policy Advisory Board she co-chairs.
“There has never been a more critical time for Americans of all ages and backgrounds to be aware of the multiple pathways to career success and gain the vocational training and skills they need to fill jobs in a changing economy,” Ivanka said.

It’s such a tone-deaf and insulting message. Americans are looking for jobs. The problem is there aren’t many out there.
That’s why they also took to Twitter to tell Ivanka to go f*ck herself.

Treating Americans like lazy peasants might win brownie points from daddy, but it’s not going to win her daddy any votes from the millions who are out of work and suffering. And they certainly don’t want to take advice from a woman who has never held down a real job and has had everything given to her on a gold platter.
