Americans Should Be Horrified As Mitch McConnell Brags About Getting Federal Money Into His Own State While Blocking The Rest From Relief Aid

Sorry, dude. You don't really get to brag about that.

In case you were wondering, amid this constant disaster that is the United States now, if Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is still trash: Surprise! He is.

Last week, as the president brought the force of the United States National Guard down on peaceful protesters so he could take a stroll across the street, McConnell spent the majority of his week publicly taking credit for and bragging about the coronavirus relief funds that various communities in his own state of Kentucky are set to soon receive.

However, what he seems to omit from his less than humble brag is the fact that he’s continuing to block $1 trillion in similar aid states and localities that are suffering the financial effects of this pandemic — even including areas in his own state.

Wednesday, McConnell made a big to-do in announcing that Christian County, Kentucky would be on the receiving end of $58,008 from the coronavirus relief bill that passed in March to help financially stabilize the county as well as the US economy.

“As Senate Majority Leader, I’m constantly working to deliver the resources to overcome the coronavirus crisis and begin to safely and smartly reopen Kentucky,” Mitch bragged on himself.

In his announcement, he referred to the bill that was approved and passed by Congress with bipartisan support as “my CARES Act.”

On that same day, McConnell went on to brag that Lexington, Kentucky would be given more than $478,000 as a direct result of his actions as the Senate Majority Leader. Just the day before, Mitch made a similar brag about the nearly $2 million in coronavirus relief funds that the city of Lousiville would be receiving.

Mitch has seemed to use the same language each time he makes an announcement, bragging that the funds were a result of his personal legislation, despite the fact that it’s a humongous lie.

However, while the Kentucky Senator continues to publicly brag about the relief that cities in his own state will receive, he is still blocking additional, vital funding to other areas of Kentucky as well as places all across the country.

In May, the House of Representatives passed an additional bill meant to provide relief during the pandemic, the HEROES Act, only to be met with resistance in McConnell’s Senate.

Mitch refuses to even bring the legislation up for a vote, slamming the new bill as “a totally unserious effort” from an “unserious House majority,” ultimately declaring it as “dead on arrival.”

He’s also infamously bashed additional aid packages as “blue state bailouts” and has made it strikingly clear over the course of this pandemic that he does not intend to allow any more relief packages to pass through his half of Congress.

But go ahead and keep bragging, dude.
