As Trump Appears To Keep Getting His Name Removed From Buildings, Obama Keeps Getting His Name Added To More

He'll never fill Obama's shoes.

Donald Trump obsessively compares himself to former President Barack Obama, and we can play that game, too. Trump is the least popular “president” in the history of polling. In contrast, Americans view Obama as one of the best presidents in their lifetime.  Trump’s brand has gone to shit since he became “president,” while Obama’s name is revered.

The Trump Organization really didn’t want the word “Trump” that was emblazoned in gold on six apartment towers removed after a decision was made to pry the toxic name from the buildings. In fact, the Trump Organization sued and lost. Those two buildings are not the first to remove Trump’s name. In October, the Trump Organization removed the “president’s” name from the two ice rinks he operates in Central Park. Forbes compiled a list of all the properties that have erased Trump’s name from its structures.

Barack Obama, on the other hand, is living his best life while Americans see his name everywhere.

In New Albany Township, Indiana, there’s Barack Obama Way. Barack Obama Boulevard is proudly featured in Pahokee, Florida, and there’s one in Los Angeles as well.

“The President has often mentioned his fond memories of living in Pasadena and attending Occidental College, so it was very appropriate to name the portion of the freeway he traveled after him,” California State Senator Anthony Portantino said. “Our community came together to make this happen. It is an honor to be in a position to have helped facilitate this wonderful symbol of our collective respect for the grace and dignity embodied by our 44th President.”

It’s not just streets and highways but there’s also a long list of schools now named in honor of the former President, like Barack Obama Academy for Academic & Civic Development in Plainfield, New Jersey, and Barack Obama Elementary School in Richmond, Virginia — the latter of which Obama’s name replaced that of a Confederate General.

Scientists have even named nine different species after Obama. There’s even a Barack Obama day in Illinois that refers to two days in honor of the former president. Wikipedia has compiled a lengthy list of structures,  etc, named after Obama. And since Trump started this dick measuring contest, Wikipedia has a list of buildings named after him, but it mostly consists of structures that the “president” owns so he put his name there himself, and it wasn’t done in honor of him.

“At the end of the line, 20 or 30 years from now, there will be hundreds of hospitals, schools, bridges, and statutes in his honor,” presidential historian Douglas Brinkley told USA Today. “He’s going to be one of the four or five most celebrated figures in U.S. history.”

But there’s something Trump has done during his first term that Barack Obama couldn’t do in two terms. On December 18, 2019, Donald J. Trump was impeached. I’d be all-in for the street outside of Mar-a-Lago to be renamed Impeachment Boulevard.
