President Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland has been at the epicenter of quite a bit of widespread criticism from the Left over a perceived lack of action with regard to the crimes that were committed by now ex-President Donald Trump, that he seems to continually get away with — especially pertaining to his actions on January 6th, 2021, when his own rabid supporters stormed the Capitol building in his name, in an effort to stop the official certification of Joe Biden’s election win.
However, with the January 6th House Select Committee’s explosive hearings fully underway now, AG Garland has officially broken his silence on the matter with a brutally ominous warning for Donald Trump and his people — “the January 6 prosecutors are watching.”
The public, televised hearings have certainly shaped up to be the blockbuster hit we all knew they would be, pulling in tens of millions of viewers across the nation and raking in massive television ratings, much to Donald Trump’s dismay, as the American people bear witness to explosive, never-before-seen evidence against the corrupt, one-term, twice-impeached former president and his inner circle.
The bombshell hearings have served as a source of reignited hope for millions of Americans who are sick and tired of seeing Donald Trump skirt justice and accountability over and over again, despite his numerous crimes against this country.

And now, it seems that Merrick Garland is letting Trump, his people, and the American public know that justice may be far closer than what the former president was hoping.
The United States Department of Justice held a press conference this week where they officially announced charges against alleged gun trafficker Demontre Hackworth. However, the majority of reporters were less concerned about Hackworth and instead wanted answers regarding the explosive public hearings.
While Garland’s responses to their questions were certainly guarded and cautious, they were enough to give Americans some newly-found hope, and likely send Donald Trump shaking in his high-heeled shoes.
CNN Justice Correspondent Evan Perez asked Garland “whether you’ve had a chance to look at the hearings or watch the hearings on Capitol Hill by the Jan. 6 Committee, and if you’ve learned anything, perhaps, that could be useful in the Justice Department’s work.”
The Attorney General answered, “So I am watching, and I will be watching all the hearings, although I may not be able to watch all of it live,” going on to add, “And I can assure you that the January 6 prosecutors are watching all the hearings as well.”
Garland went on to deliver a rather lengthy statement, explaining precisely why he would not be commenting further on an ongoing investigation, but it certainly left a lot open for interpretation:
We have three reasons, they’re all, I say, coequal. One is that our investigations generally proceed quietly and in secret so that we don’t tell witnesses where we are. We don’t want them to know. We want truthful answers as we approach, we want to be able to do our subpoenas and search warrants without any risk. Eventually, that information comes out, comes out in the form of our search warrant affidavits, comes out in our orders, comes out in our pleadings, and eventually, if there are charges. But for our investigations to proceed in an efficient way, we have learned over many, many years this is the way our investigation should go.
Secondly, this is what protects the civil liberties of people who have not been charged. We don’t impugn people until we actually charge them. You know, this is part of the rule of law in America.
And third, there are the people who we have charged, as all of you well know, we’ve charged well over 800 people now in connection with January 6th. Some of them have pled, but others are facing proceedings. And for us to comment about evidence, some of which regards them, some of which regards others, could affect their cases and could affect our ability to proceed in an effective way. So that’s the reason, and it’s the reason that this has been the longstanding position of the Justice Department.”
Another reporter asked the AG if there are any legal limitations to pursuing “obstruction or conspiracy charges against people at the highest levels of this government or previous governments.”
Garland made it clear that the simple answer was no, confirming, “there’s nothing that’s coming in the way of our investigation.”
“We are proceeding with full urgency with respect, as I’ve said many times before, to hold all perpetrators who are criminally responsible for January 6 accountable, regardless of their level or their position and regardless of whether they were present at the events of January 6. We’re just going to follow the facts wherever they lead,” the Biden-era Attorney General said.
