On Wednesday, thousands of demonstrators descended on the state Capitol in Lansing, Michigan, to protest Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s stay-at-home order. They clogged the streets with their cars while scores ignored organizers’ pleas to stay inside their vehicles in what the Facebook organizers of the group called “Operation Gridlock.”
“Lock her up!” chants broke out with Confederate flags in some of the Trumpers’ hands. Photos circulated quickly on social media of the jaw-dropping spectacle, and it was reported that demonstrators even blocked an ambulance from reaching the hospital. They did not hold a protest; it was a Trump rally with massive hissy fits breaking out about abortion, and men open carrying ARs or whatnot.
Leave it to Donald Trump Jr. to be wrong on everything. In response to some Michigan sheriffs defying the Governor’s order, Junior called Whitmer a “dictator” for trying to keep her constituents safe.
“This is what happens when you play dictator for the day,” Little Don tweeted. “Maybe if Gov. Whitmer focused more on #Michigan and less on running for VP she could get much better results for her great constituents.”

Junior needs to keep up. After all, it was just three days ago that his dad told the country during a COVID-19 briefing, “When somebody is the president of the United States, the authority is total. And that’s the way it’s gotta be. It’s total.”
But it’s good to know the Trumps are concerned that Joe Biden could choose Whitmer as his running mate. I like leaders that don’t want to kill their constituents.
