Recently, Barron Trump was photographed sporting a noticeably different look, swapping his usual slicked-back hair for a more tousled style, amid reports he’s been dating a girlfriend from NYU for over a year.
Photos obtained by Hello! show Barron walking outside in a white Ralph Lauren polo shirt, beige chinos, and a brown leather belt, no suit, no hair gel, and no sign of the put-together style he’s typically worn in public.

He’s currently studying finance at NYU’s Stern School of Business, having transferred earlier this year to the school’s Washington, D.C. campus to be closer to his parents.

The haircut arrived alongside renewed attention to his personal life.
Hello! reported in late September that Barron has been quietly dating a girlfriend he met on campus for more than a year, though her identity remains unconfirmed and it’s unclear whether the relationship is still ongoing following his campus transfer. A source told the outlet that “Barron has a nice girlfriend and spends a lot of time with her,” adding that he “is much more like his mother, Melania. He keeps his head down and gets on with it. He is not trying to be BMOC.”
Trump himself addressed the subject differently back in 2024, before any of this surfaced.
Asked on the PBD Podcast whether his son had a girlfriend, he said, “[He’s not] there yet. I don’t think he’s had a girlfriend yet,” while calling Barron “good-looking” and adding that he “doesn’t mind being alone.” Melania has described her son in warmer terms on other occasions, once calling him a rare combination of “intelligence, charm, and diligence.”
Melania has offered her own updates more recently. Speaking on Fox Business’s “The Big Money Show” in late September, she acknowledged spending “less and less family time” with her son, attributing it to his growing independence. “Barron is already a young man,” she said, adding that he sometimes prefers space of his own. “So sometimes he’s maybe even happy that, you know, I just want to do my stuff.”
Rumors about Barron’s dating life have surfaced before, too. A TikTok video from a woman identifying herself only as Maddie went viral years ago after she claimed to have been his first girlfriend back in high school, a claim that’s circulated periodically ever since without further confirmation.
Barron, now 20, has largely stayed out of the public eye compared to his older siblings, with most of what’s known about him filtered through occasional comments from his parents rather than his own public statements.
