CNN Reported Laughter Erupted Through The Courtroom After Donald Trump’s Unhinged Tweets Came Back To Haunt Him During Trial

That's gotta sting!

According to reporting from CNN, laughter erupted throughout the Manhattan courtroom where disgraced ex-President Donald Trump is currently on trial for 34 felony counts related to hush money payments made during the 2016 election cycle after one of Donald’s now-infamous old tweets came back to haunt him in the worst kind of way.

The tweet in question?

If anyone is looking for a good lawyer, I would strongly suggest that you don’t retain the services of Michael Cohen!”

CNN analysts Kaitlan Collins and Paula Reid broke it down on a network segment, where they discussed the role that Donald’s own past words will likely play in this bombshell case — with particular interest to one of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s star witnesses; Trump’s own former personal attorney and self-described “fixer” Michael Cohen.

Both of the analysts were quick to opine that Donald Trump’s social media history —most specifically tweets hailing from April 21, 2018, and Aug. 22, 2018 — will serve as a living document for the jury to actually see the fine details of the long-running and highly-complex relationship between the now-former president and his one-time personal “fixer.”

“Initially when everything was happening to Michael Cohen, Donald Trump was saying, ‘I’m not worried about him, he’d never flip,” Collins explained. “To see the total 180 that relationship has done is so remarkable to me.”

Reid noted that Trump’s “testimony would decide the case,” explaining that these past social media posts become even more relevant if the former president ultimately declines to take the stand.

In the end, it truly all comes down to what Judge Merchan will allow as evidence in the courtroom, but it’s a very real possibility that the narrative of this entire case could be told through haunting old social media posts.

The story of the Trump x Cohen relationship can be seen clear as day through Donald Trump’s own past Twitter history — which the former president was notorious for utilizing like a makeshift personal diary — when Donald took to social media in April of 2018 to express his confidence in his former personal attorney.

“Most people will flip if the Government lets them out of trouble,” Trump wrote in April of 2018. “Sorry, I don’t see Michael doing that despite the horrible Witch Hunt and the dishonest media!”

It was only 4 short months later that the then-president was suddenly singing a starkly different tune.

“If anyone is looking for a good lawyer, I would strongly suggest that you don’t retain the services of Michael Cohen!” Trump wrote on Twitter in August of the same year.

Six years and multiple felony charges later, Donald’s flip-flop on his personal lawyer would come back to haunt him in a Manhattan courtroom, where his damning old tweets were read out loud for the jury of his peers to hear.

“The irony of that is Donald Trump retained Michael Cohen’s services it’s for decades,” Collins said. “And it’s precisely why we’re sitting here outside the courthouse right now.”
