Delusional Ted Cruz’s Best Answer For Deterring School Shootings Appears To Be More “Armed Law Enforcement”

I wish this were even surprising.

This is one of those times where I really have no choice but to say that we couldn’t make this up if we tried to.

The lives of at least 18 innocent young children and 3 adults were taken today when 18-year-old Uvalde High School student, Salvador Ramos, opened fire at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.

Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott stated that the suspect also shot his grandmother before entering the elementary school. Abbott stated that the shooter was in possession of a handgun and possibly a rifle. The TX governor confirmed in his statement that Ramos was shot dead, presumably by law enforcement agents.

If there has ever been cold, hard evidence of the gun violence epidemic in the United States, this is it.

Yet for all those innocent little lives lost, it seems all Republicans can think about is how petrified they are about the mere notion of their guns being bothered.

Already today, we have seen Texas Republican Congressman Tony Gonzales tweet out horrifyingly tone-deaf Bible verses that seem to laud the notion of children being in heaven. We have seen controversial Georgia House Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene seemingly lay the blame for this shooting, and all the others too apparently, on mental health issues and psych medications. And we have reported on the fact that, at this current moment in time, the likes of ex-President Donald Trump, TX Senator Ted Cruz, and Texas Governor Greg Abbott are all slated to speak at an upcoming NRA event, just three short days after this massacre.

And now this…

In the wake of the shooting, Ted Cruz was stopped by a reporter in the Capitol where he was questioned about the shooting and the fact that still, Congress does nothing to bring this epidemic of gun violence in this nation to a heel.

Ted Cruz’s answer to the problem?

More f*cking guns.

I wish I were kidding.

“We know from past experiences that the most effective tool for keeping kids safe is armed law enforcement on the campus,” Cruz told the press this evening, following the shooting that left more than 20 innocent human beings dead.

The TX lawmaker then proceeded to go on a disgusting rant about how Democrats and the media are “politicizing” this tragedy to “try to restrict the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens.”

This loosely translates to, “We really don’t care how many kids die, you can’t have our guns.

We don’t want your “rights,” Ted. We want our children to see their 18th birthdays.
