Desperate Roger Stone Is Reportedly Trying To Auction Off A Copy Of A 90s Magazine Cover He Says Is Signed By Trump In Order To Help Pay His Bills

Boy, that's pathetic.

It wasn’t long ago we reported that Donald Trump’s longtime associate Roger Stone was reduced to clamoring for donations on his Parler account for things such as rent payments and grocery money.

“I urgently need your help today just to survive,” Stone wrote at the time. “We are struggling to pay for rent, groceries, gasoline, prescription medicine, and the premiums for the little insurance we have left.”

Despite being pardoned on a federal level by his good pal Trump during his final days in office, the legal woes have continually mounted for Stone and it seemed they were putting a serious strain on his wallet.

And it doesn’t look like his financial standing has gotten any better since our last report.

According to a new report from Yahoo! News, Stone is still desperate for cash and it seems it’s just getting worse, as the longtime Trump ally is now reportedly attempting to auction off a copy of a 1990’s magazine cover, claiming that it’s been signed by the ex-President Donald Trump himself. The magazine is up for sale as part of a larger effort to fundraise money for Stone’s mounting legal and medical bills.

The cover of the now-defunct trade publication magazine, Real Estate New York, reads, “To Roger YOU ARE THE GREATEST!” and appears to be scrawled in Donald Trump’s unmistakeable handwriting. In what appears to be an effort to sweeten the deal a little further, Stone is offering an NFT (non-fungible token) of the “one of only one” digital copy of the signed magazine to the highest bidder — but only under the condition that the bid exceeds $20,000 dollars.

Non-fungible tokens, what’s essentially a non-interchangeable digital token of a visual item, have made quite the splash in the art world recently, with former First Lady Melania Trump dipping her own toes into the industry recently, with an NFT of her eye.

Stone has asserted in an email that he believes Donald Trump signed the magazine in 1999 and asserts that the signature is “indeed real.” However, POLITICO has reportedly been unable to confirm, per the Yahoo! report.

The report notes that, as of this afternoon, precisely zero bids had been made on the magazine cover Stone is auctioning off.

The cover, as well as the NFT, are both parts of a larger fundraising campaign on behalf of the Stone family by right-wing internet talk show host and personal friend of Stone, Pete Santilli. Two copies of a 1968 Richard Nixon pamphlet signed by Stone were auctioned for $400 and $300, as well as a “rare Trump/Melania” poster that depicted the former First Couple as Uncle Same and Lady Liberty that went for $550.

In an email penned by Stone, he wrote, “Between the cost of defending myself in 6 remaining merit-less but sensationalized harassment civil suits and the J-6 [January 6th] Witchhunt my legal expenses are formidable,” going on to add that “cancer therapies not covered by insurance for my wife are also not inexpensive.”

Just last week, the longtime Trump ally met with the House Select Committee that’s currently investigating the January 6th Capitol riot. Stone told reporters following the meeting that he pleaded the 5th amendment on every question “not because I have done anything wrong, but because I am fully aware of the House Democrats’ long history of fabricating perjury charges.”

The letter sent by the committee subpoenaing Stone alleged that the longtime Trump ally attempted to fundraise for the “Stop the Steal” rally held by Trump just hours before the insurrection, and had previously claimed that he was invited to “lead a march to the Capitol” but ultimately didn’t end up participating.
