Devin Nunes Claims He Was “Stalked” After Reporter Asks Question About Trump’s Ukraine Scandal

That's called reporting. Not stalking.

Republican Rep. Devin Nunes certainly has a lot to answer for these days after he was publicly busted, on record, for his personal involvement in Donald Trump’s Ukraine scandal by Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell during a round of public impeachment hearings recently.

However, unsurprisingly enough, Nunes does not want to talk about Lev Parnas, Rudy Giuliani, or Ukraine and the only thing he’s willing to speak on in regard to Donald Trump is some alleged nudes of number 45.

The GOP Rep. made it strikingly clear to CNN not long ago that he had absolutely no intention of answering any of their questions in “this lifetime or the next.”

And now it seems that Devin’s Trump-like disdain for the media certainly isn’t limited to CNN after he took to his Twitter account with a manic claim that a reporter who was merely trying to ask him a question was “stalking” him.

While attending a 15,000-per-plate GOP fundraiser at the luxury Lotte New York Palace Hotel in Manhattan Nunes was approached by reporter Lee Fang with The Intercept who attempted to ask the Republican Rep. fairly standard questions regarding his role in Trump’s attempted bribery and extortion of Ukraine.

“Hey, Congressman Nunes. I just wanted to ask you really quickly: What were your calls with Lev Parnas about?” Fang inquired, speaking of the now-indicted former Giuliani henchman who Devin Nunes has been revealed to be in cahoots with. “Were you asking about the effort to investigate Hunter Biden?”

The GOP lawmaker walked away without answering the question.

Fang attempted to approach Nunes and question him a second time, to which Devin responded by pulling out his cell phone and snapping several photos of the reporter as well as the cameraman for The Intercept.

The reporter identified himself and attempted his line of questioning again, asking, “Were you part of this effort to pressure the Ukrainian government to investigate Hunter Biden?”

Nunes once again walked away without answering.

The GOP Rep. then took to his Twitter account yesterday, posting a photo of the Intercept reporter, claiming that he was “stalked” by the man.

This guy stalked me in hotel lobby after my appearance on ⁦@foxandfriends Saturday AM,” Nunes captioned the image, “maybe he was in Vienna with @cnn.” — a reference to the CNN report that revealed Nunes traveled to Vienna last year to meet with a former Ukrainian prosecutor as part of the effort to dig up dirt on Joe Biden.

Fang wasted no time responding to Nunes’ claims with a tweet of his own, calling the accusations “weird” and “defamatory.”

As reported by The Intercept’s Fang and Paul Abowd, “Nunes has struggled to explain his rationale for concealing his communications with the men involved in the alleged pressure campaign in Ukraine at the height of their effort, which reportedly included a bid to withhold military assistance and the firing of an ambassador viewed as an obstacle to the strategy.”

It seems that Nunes is continuing to desperately grasp at straws because he knows that’s all he has left. He’s busted. Donald Trump is busted. And their clock is ticking.

And no amount of defaming innocent reports on Twitter is going to change that.
