“Disgraceful” Speaker McCarthy Slammed For Apparent Plan To Tamper With Trump Investigations, After He Ordered GOP Committee Chairs To Run Interference For Ex-President After Trump Admitted He’s Soon To Be Arrested

This has gone too far.

Newly-appointed Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy got rightfully slammed as “disgraceful” by historian Michael Beschloss after McCarthy shamelessly announced that he was directing the GOP chairs of the “relevant” House committees to essentially interfere with the multiple investigations raging against Donald Trump, on the ex-president’s behalf, after Donald admitted that he will likely be “arrested” in the Manhattan DA’s hush money case.

In the early hours of the morning recently, scandal-ridden Donald Trump ignited a flurry of panic and outrage after he took to his Truth Social platform and not only announced his admission to his apparent pending arrest, but took things a horrifying step further when called on his supporters to take action, protests through the streets, and “TAKE OUR NATION BACK!” — a call to action that was eerily reminiscent of January 6th.

In the second half of his posts, Trump wrote:

NOW ILLEGAL LEAKS FROM A CORRUPT & HIGHLY POLITICAL MANHATTAN DISTRICT ATTORNEYS OFFICE, WHICH HAS ALLOWED NEW RECORDS TO BE SET IN VIOLENT CRIME & WHOSE LEADER IS FUNDED BY GEORGE SOROS, INDICATE THAT, WITH NO CRIME BEING ABLE TO BE PROVEN, & BASED ON AN OLD & FULLY DEBUNKED (BY NUMEROUS OTHER PROSECUTORS!) FAIRYTALE, THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!”

This Trump announcement prompted House Speaker McCarthy to seemingly attempt to take matters into his own hands and order his Republican House entourage to interfere and essentially tamper with the ongoing federal investigations into Donald Trump, on the ex-president’s behalf.

McCarthy took to his own Twitter account and wrote:

Here we go again — an outrageous abuse of power by a radical DA who lets violent criminals walk as he pursues political vengeance against President Trump. I’m directing relevant committees to immediately investigate if federal funds are being used to subvert our democracy by interfering in elections with politically motivated prosecutions.”

McCarthy’s disturbing tweet was read on MSNBC’s “The Saturday Show” by host Jonathan Capehart, where historian Michael Beschloss joined in on the discussion and held nothing back when expressing his absolute disgust with the newly-appointed Speaker of the House.

“I’m totally with you, Jonathan, in the way that you have reacted to this almost disgraceful tweet that Kevin McCarthy has put out and I don’t use that word often to describe speakers of the House,” Beschloss began on this morning’s MSNBC segment. “He is interfering with the process of the rule of law; this is a duly elected D.A. in New York who we don’t even know what’s going to happen yet or what the grand jury is going to do. But the speaker of the House has absolutely no business interfering with this process, siding with one side, Donald Trump’s side, and also saying that he is going to investigate the use of federal funds to interfere.”

“This is him talking, with our elections, in effort with what he calls, politically motivated prosecutors,” the historian went on to explain. “It’s not his business to get involved in the legal process, and it also raises another question, Jonathan, which is as, you have said, Donald Trump has put out this statement only a few hours ago, calling on people to nationally protest his possible arrest. He is claiming he is going to be arrested.”

“We don’t know what’s going to happen yet so, you have an ex-president calling for a protest we now know could turn into violence, as it did on the 6th of January, 2021. Hordes invaded the Capitol, we were in danger of killing the vice president, killing the speaker of the House, other members of the congress, the defiling of the House and Senate chambers,'” Beschloss went on to elaborate. “That’s what happened that day. But at least, as horrible as that was, you and I talked about it that day, at least you had a speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, where we could be sure that she would do her best to try to protect the Capitol against violent attack. After this statement by Kevin McCarthy, we have no such reassurance.”

I get the feeling things are about to get very scary in the United States of America.
