It’s pretty clear at this point that Donald Trump’s malignant narcissism has devolved so deeply that he no longer feels shame about anything anymore, if he ever did at all. In fact, it’s not even just a lack of shame, it’s an overall sense of pride, dignity, and pompous satisfaction in all of the deluded, dangerous, and disastrous things he has done and continues to do.
The former president put that sickening pride on full display this morning when he openly and even arrogantly seemed to declare that he was proud of the fact that he put more faith and trust in Russia’s heinous dictator Vladimir Putin than he did in US “intelligence lowlifes” and “slime” throughout his presidential term.
No one will soon be able to forget Trump’s infamous 2018 declaration, during his press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Finnish capital of Helsinki, during which the then-president made it openly clear to the world that he believed the Russian dictator’s denial about playing any role in any interference into the 2016 US presidential election, over the multiple assessments from United States intelligence agencies and officials that quite literally proved the exact opposite of Putin’s claims.
Here we are, nearly 5 years later, and Donald Trump is making it clear to the world once again that he does not regret that trust in the Russian dictator. In fact, the former president still touts that infamous, disturbing moment as one of his biggest points of pride throughout his administration.

The unsettling declaration came in a post Trump made on his struggling Truth Social platform, in which the scandal-ridden, disgraced ex-president let loose on former FBI and CIA officials who he believes attempted to undermine his presidency via their investigation into the Trump campaign’s countless contacts with Russian agents during the 2016 race.
Trump fumed in the social media post:
Remember in Helsinki when a 3rd rate reporter asked me, essentially, who I trusted more, President Putin of Russia, or our “Intelligence” lowlifes. My instinct at the time was that we had really bad people in the form of James Comey, McCabe (whose wife was being helped out by Crooked Hillary while Crooked was under investigation!), Brennan, Peter Strzok (whose wife is at the SEC) & his lover, Lisa Page. Now add McGonigal & other slime to the list. Who would you choose, Putin or these Misfits?”
The unhinged rant was attached to a post from Kash Patel, linking an article to the former government official’s website titled, FBI criminal government gangsters Peter Strzok and Charles McGonigal texts unearthed, Russiagate set up exposed.
At the end of the day, Donald Trump’s open praise for the Russian tyrant is nothing new. He spent most of his presidency heaping his praises on Putin, nearly fanboying the heinous killer. Putin’s outrageous attack against Ukraine did absolutely nothing to staunch Donald’s obsession, with the corrupt former president referring to the dictator as a “genius” last year, in the midst of Putin’s horrifying full-scale invasion of Ukraine that has cost tens of thousands of Ukrainian lives.
