Dr. Fauci Says COVID-19 Pandemic Could “Go Into Another Season” As Trump Plans To Reopen Country By Easter

If the pandemic continues into next year, it would be precisely because Trump reopened the country against Fauci's advice.

President Donald Trump is hell-bent on opening the United States back up to business as usual against the expert health advice of Dr. Anthony Fauci, who is warning that the coronavirus pandemic could continue into next year.

During his Fox News town hall on Tuesday, Trump boasted about how he wants to “pack the churches” on Easter, a move that would allow the virus to spread further.

“Look, Easter’s a very special day for me,” Trump laughably claimed. “And I see it’s sort of in that timeline that I’m thinking about. And I say, ‘Wouldn’t it be great to have all of the churches full – you know the churches aren’t allowed, essentially, to have much of a congregation there.”

“So I think Easter Sunday, and you’ll have packed churches all over our country,” he continued. “I think it would be a beautiful time. And it’s just about the timeline that I think is right.”

Here’s the video via Twitter:

The coronavirus has already infected over 60,000 Americans and killed around 800. And it’s only getting worse. Packing churches and sending Americans back to work instead of sticking to the social distancing and self-isolation strategy recommended by health experts such as Fauci is suicide.

Fauci himself warned that the coronavirus pandemic could last so long that it stretches into next year, when a vaccine may finally be ready to get into the fight.

“I told you some time ago that a vaccine is being developed, it still will be quite a while before we have it,” Dr. Fauci told Fox News host Laura Ingraham. “But it is conceivable that this may go into another season, and if it does it will bring us that much closer to the possibility of having not only drugs available, but also a vaccine.”

The pandemic could be over long before next year if Trump doesn’t go through with plans to reopen the country by Easter. But if he does, we can certainly expect this crisis to drag on longer and for more people to die. This is why it’s important to listen to experts like Fauci, who is the director of the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases. He knows what he is talking about, and he certainly knows more about pandemics and how they spread than Trump does. The country, therefore, should listen to him instead and stay home until the experts give the all-clear.
