According to disturbing, breaking reporting by multiple outlets, an individual was detained by the US Secret Service during the hours of Monday night/early Tuesday morning, after he drove a U-Haul truck through the security barrier surrounding the White House, where officials ultimately discovered a Nazi flag inside the vehicle.
Reporting confirmed that the crash happened around Lafayette Square. The driver of the rented box truck not only crashed into the security barriers near the White House where President and First Lady Biden reside, but then proceeded to repeatedly crash back into the barriers, attempting to ram his way through. The Nazi-flag-bearing driver was immediately arrested at the scene of the crime, where he was promptly slammed with a variety of serious criminal charges, including trespassing, destruction of federal property, and threatening to kill, kidnap or inflict harm on the president, vice president, or a family member.
Authorities called bomb technicians to the scene to search for any explosive devices in the rented hauler truck, with officials ultimately finding a black backpack, a roll of duct tape, a notebook, and a Nazi flag with a swastika inside the U-Haul.
Secret Service Chief of Communications Anthony Guglielmi gave a statement to NBC News in the aftermath of the incident and said, “There were no injuries to any Secret Service or White House personnel, and the cause and manner of the crash remain under investigation.” Going on to add that, “preliminary investigation reveals the driver may have intentionally struck the security barrier.”

Secret Service officials also ordered an evacuation of the nearby Hay-Adams hotel, out of an abundance of caution, as they cleared the scene. Hotel patrons were quickly let back into the establishment once the scene was deemed safe by officials.
The U.S. Park Police has since identified the driver as 19-year-old Sai Varshith Kandula of Chesterfield, Missouri.
