Eric Trump Responds To Scottish Parliament’s Investigation Into Family Properties And Does Nothing To Make Things Better

He's a joke.

Since leaving the posh protection of the presidency, Donald Trump has quickly determined that all of these various entities who promised to come after him as a private citizen fully intend to make good on their vows — and that’s not just limited to those who happen to be in the United States.

Recently, we reported that Trump’s legal troubles went from national to international when an investigation was announced by the Scottish Parliament into how exactly the Trump family managed to acquire their golf property in the country. Now, Donald’s middle son, Eric Trump, is doing what he does best — pitching a hissy fit.

POLITICO reported today that Eric released a statement in which he attacked the leader of the Scottish Greens, Patrick Harvie, for leading the investigation against the Trump family.

“Patrick Harvie is nothing more than a national embarrassment with his pathetic antics that only serve himself and his political agenda,” Eric whined. “If Harvie and the rest of the Scottish government continue to treat overseas investors like this, it will deter future investors from conducting business in Scotland, ultimately crushing their economy, tourism and hospitality industries.”

The debate on whether to invoke “unexplained wealth orders” to investigate the Trump family was first tossed around by Scottish officials back in November.

“First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has previously said that any investigation is the responsibility of Police Scotland and the Crown Office. More recently, in January Sturgeon said it was a matter for Scotland’s Lord Advocate,” the report reads. “Wednesday’s debate will be followed by a vote. While it is not binding, it would put significant pressure on Sturgeon to seek an UWO.”

This isn’t the first time that the Trump Turnberry resorts in Scotland have come under scrutiny, of course. Over the years, Turnberry has been the center of many a controversy, including an investigation into whether or not the Air Force stopovers were taking place at the Turnberry airport in an effort to increase bookings at the Trump-owned property.
