Former CIA Director Appears To Troll Trump After POTUS Thanks Russia Before US Armed Forces For The Death Of ISIS Leader

Trump is an amateur.

Donald Trump gave a press conference on Sunday to announce the death of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, but then he went off-script, of course. He offered descriptive details of Baghdadi’s death, some of which is hard to discern whether it’s true or not. Like when Trump said Baghdadi died after running into the end of a tunnel “whimpering and crying and screaming all the way,” as American military dogs chased him. The ISIS leader was reportedly wearing a suicide vest and blew himself up along with three children.

The former reality show star’s speech was OK in the beginning, but then he started rambling, and most of us wondered if he’ll bring up his 2016 electoral win, and pass out maps. Or, if he’ll give away classified intel, take a shot at “Crooked Hillary,” or compare himself to his predecessor. And the latter happened right on cue.

Trump, of course, compared the mission to President Barack Obama’s when his predecessor gave the signal for military forces to kill Osama bin Laden.

“Bin Laden was a big thing,” Trump bragged, adding, “but this is the biggest there is – this is the worst ever. Osama bin Laden was big, but Osama became big with the World Trade Center.”

Trump thanked multiple countries for their assistance in the military effort — first naming Russia, then Turkey, Syria, and Iraq — all before ever saying a word about the troops who carried out the mission.

Former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency John Brennan, a Trump critic, appears to be trolling the “president” on Twitter by praising U.S. “special forces & intelligence personnel.”

Former Presidential Envoy Brett McGurk, who served under Bush, Obama, and Trump, offered a similar tweet:

When Trump was a presidential candidate, he repeatedly called for people to stop praising Barack Obama after Osama bin Laden was killed. That has come back to haunt as CNN showed tweets of his in which he blasted his predecessor after bin Laden’s demise.

No small wonder that not only has he forgotten his position on whether it’s a President who is responsible for a mission like this or the troops they command, but forgotten about those troops entirely until after he’d sent his thanks to Russia.
