As Donald Trump struggles and fails to find a backer to help him foot the half-a-billion dollar bill he owes in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ successful civil fraud trial against him, concerns have begun to grow over possible national security implications in this situation — as American bond agencies have repeatedly given Trump the slip, leaving experts and Americans to grow concerned that he may soon turn to foreign entities in an effort to keep James’ hands off his properties and assets.
These fears and concerns have grown to the point that even The View host Joy Behar floated the very real possibility that a foreign adversary could leverage Donald’s financial vulnerability, especially given that he’s the presumptive 2024 Republican presidential nominee.
“Nobody wants to lend him the money, in this country anyway. Who knows what’s going to happen with Russia and Saudi Arabia?” Behar questioned in a recent segment.

With those fears and speculations heavy in the air, Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum capitalized on an opportunity to straight-up ask one of Donald Trump’s most infamous attorneys about this terrifying possibility during yesterday’s edition of Fox News Channel’s The Story with Martha MacCallum.
MacCallum flat-out asked Trump attorney Alina Habba, to her face, “Is there any effort on the part of your team to secure this money through another country, Saudi Arabia or Russia?”
Habba’s response was both stunning and quite unsettling:
Well, there’s rules and regulations that are public. I can’t speak about strategy, that requires certain things and we have to follow those rules. Like I said, this is manifest injustice. It is impossible — it is an impossibility. I believe they knew that.
I think that’s why mid-trial, frankly, they changed their ask from $250 million to the ridiculous amount of money that they have asked for.
I think everything is done intentionally. I do not doubt that the witch-hunt that the election interference goal is what was ringing steady and loudly and true throughout all these trials, frankly. And we’re seeing it. It’s the demise of our country, not the demise of Trump.
So we’ll handle it as we always have and keep working hard.”
