Jesse Watters, the host of Watters’ World and co-host of The Five on Fox News, spoke at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit in Tampa, Florida, and told a story about former President Donald Trump to the crowd.  Watters told the MAGA crowd that Trump told him that his “Twitter account is the modern-day equivalent of the Gettysburg Address.”

Former President Abraham Lincoln gave one of the most famous speeches in U.S. history at the dedication of the Gettysburg National Cemetery on November 19, 1863. Somehow, Trump thinks his tweets are the modern equivalent to “Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth, upon this continent, a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.”

Trump, the most toxic and divisive president in recent U.S. history, must be imagining himself as someone that united the masses. Lincoln said in 1863, “Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.” And Trump’s “Despite the constant negative press covfefe” tweet that he unleashed after midnight in 2017 is somehow comparable to one of the most celebrated speeches in history.

Watters told the crowd of Trump telling the Fox pundit, “Jesse, you know, some people say my Twitter account is the modern-day equivalent to the Gettysburg Address.” Remarkably, the crowd laughed as if Trump’s narcissistic personality disorder is a funny thing.

This is just another version of one of Trump’s ‘sir’ stories. And if Lincoln were the president instead of Trump at the end of his term in office, he wouldn’t have tried to create a Civil War on Jan. 6 by attempting a coup simply because he sustained a massive narcissistic injury in November.
