Fox News Host Went On Bonkers Rant Against Elmo And His Dad After Sesame Street Addressed Racism And Protests

Seriously, dude? You're big mad at Elmo?

If you’re anything like me, Sesame Street has been a calming constant in your life pretty much ever since you can remember.

It was one of the few shows I could watch on the “rabbit ears” antenna when my dad lost his job. It was the one show that always had an episode that felt like it was specifically tailored for whatever I needed that day. It taught me compassion and understanding in a way that nothing else really ever could.

And because of that, Fox News is really mad at Sesame Street.

You didn’t read that wrong.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson has beef with yet another random entity that he feels has slighted his privilege in some way, and this time it’s a kid’s show that’s been running for over 50 years and tackles everything from LGBTQ+ issues to autism to kids with parents in prison.

Given everything that’s going on in this nation at present time, it came as no surprise when Sesame Street partnered with CNN and released a show featuring Elmo and his father discussing the protests against police brutality in this country and racism as a whole.

In the Sesame Street segment, that was part of a larger CNN town hall, Elmo’s father Louie can be seen holding a “Love, Justice, Peace” that he planned to bring with him to a protest as he explained racism to his son Elmo — who didn’t understand why people everywhere were so upset.

“Across the country, people of color ― especially in the black community ― are being treated unfairly because of how they look, their culture, race, and who they are,” Elmo’s dad explained. “What we are seeing is people saying, ‘Enough is enough.’ They want to end racism.”

As is expected from the nostalgic children’s show that’s so near and dear to our hearts, the central message of the Sesame Street segment was one of tolerance and equality.

“On Sesame Street, we all love and respect one another,” Louie ended.

And that pissed Tucker Carlson off.

Kicking off his segment, Carlson raged against “decades of relentless propaganda” that he feels has weakened this country.

“All of it designed to make us feel that we have no right to stand up for ourselves, to stand up for our country,” he said. “We are too sinful to resist, we deserve whatever we get. Shut up and take it, America.”

After showing a clip of the children’s show, Carlson went completely unhinged.

“Got that, Bobby?” Tucker fumed, addressing some fictional, no doubt white kid in his head. “America is a very bad place, and it’s your fault. So no matter what happens, no matter what they do to you when you grow up, you have no right to complain. That’s the message and it starts very young.”

When there are protests and demonstrations raging against police brutality and systemic racism from coast to coast in this nation, and a global pandemic still going strong on top of that, and you’re extra butthurt over a kid’s show teaching tolerance, there’s no denying at that point that you’re just a racist piece of trash.
