The surprising news broke this week that Maria Bartiromo, long one of the most pro-Trump personalities at Fox News and Fox Business, was leaving the network.
Status.news reported Thursday on the backstory of what happened: Bartiromo shared internal Fox communications with the White House, specifically about orders from Fox management not to cover President Donald Trump’s claims last month about supposed Chinese interference in the 2020 presidential election.
“When Mr. Trump gave a prime-time speech about election integrity in July, the network warned its journalists away from covering the president’s claims on the air. Ms. Bartiromo shared a text from a Fox Business executive repeating that guidance with the White House,” the New York Times reported. “The episode was first reported by Status, a media newsletter.”
And, of course, Oliver Darcy was the first to crack the code on why Maria Bartiromo was suddenly released from Fox News.

Now, Bartiromo has spoken about what happened, with her attorney denying that she was fired from the network at all.
According to the Daily Mail, Bartiromo’s lawyer has issued a statement about her sudden Fox exit.
“‘The irresponsible reports that have been published stating that Maria Bartiromo was fired or is no longer an employee of Fox are absolutely and unequivocally false,” lawyer Bryan Freedman said in the statement. “Make no mistake, we have the receipts and witnesses and they will come out whether through the courthouse or otherwise. Those reporting her firing or the incredulous facts supporting that fiction have exhibited a complete and utter reckless disregard for the truth.”
Donald Trump sounds off on Maria Bartiromo’s shock exit from Fox News:
“I can’t believe Maria Bartiromo is no longer going to have her great show(s) on FoxNews/Business. Three different shows, always number one. Maria is a total professional, and a true warrior. Her fans, of… pic.twitter.com/dWtuTfrHqx

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has also spoken out about the firing of one of his biggest media fans.
“I can’t believe Maria Bartiromo is no longer going to have her great show(s) on FoxNews/Business,” Trump said on Truth Social. “Three different shows, always number one. Maria is a total professional, and a true warrior. Her fans, of which there are many, will not be happy. God bless you, Maria!”
