Ghislaine Maxwell Is Reportedly Begging And Pleading For Mercy Ahead Of Sentencing On Child Sex Trafficking Charges, Claims Her “Difficult, Traumatic Childhood… Made Her Vulnerable To Epstein”

Ghislaine Maxwell — the infamous deceased child sex trafficker and rapist Jeffrey Epstein’s long-time girlfriend and accomplice — is reportedly now begging and pleading for leniency, mercy, and a lighter sentence just two weeks before her scheduled court sentencing on her own child sex trafficking charges, citing her traumatic childhood and vulnerability to Epstein to make her case.

Maxwell’s legal team filed a brief on Wednesday evening that saw the attorneys urging Judge Alison Nathan to ultimately sentence the scandal-ridden British socialite to less than the 20 years that was recommended by the probation department.

60-year0old Maxwell was convicted on charges related to recruiting and grooming young girls to be sexually abused and raped by the late US financier Jeffrey Epstein late last year. A jury of her peers ultimately found Maxwell guilty on five out of six federal charges following a month-long trial, the most serious of which being the sex trafficking of a minor.

Ghislaine’s sentence is currently slated to come down in Manhattan’s federal court on June 28th and could see the rest of the socialite’s life behind prison bars.

In the brief, her attorneys wrote, “This Court cannot sentence Ms. Maxwell as if she were a proxy for Epstein simply because Epstein is no longer here. Ms. Maxwell cannot and should not bear all the punishment for which Epstein should have been held responsible.”

Her attorneys then laid heavy on the notion of Maxwell’s emotional wounds, claiming that the sex trafficker “had a difficult, traumatic childhood with an overbearing, narcissistic, and demanding father.”

“It made her vulnerable to Epstein, whom she met right after her father’s death,” her legal team wrote in the brief.

“It is the biggest mistake she made in her life and one that she has not and never will repeat.”

Ghislaine’s legal team also heavily leaned into her less than ideal experience behind bars thus far, writing, “Ms. Maxwell has already experienced a hard time during detention under conditions far more onerous and punitive than any experienced by a typical pretrial detainee, and she is preparing to spend significantly more time behind bars. Her life has been ruined. Since Epstein’s death, her life has been threatened and death threats continue while she is incarcerated.”

Ghislaine Maxwell is the daughter of the late British press baron Robert Maxwell — an Oxford-educated socialite who grew up in immense wealth and privilege as a friend to royalty until her legal demise.

Maxwell’s innermost circle consisted of Britain’s Prince Andrew, ex-President, real estate “mogul,” and accused rapist Donald Trump, and the Clintons.

Prosecutors on her case have said that Ghislaine was the “key” to Jeffrey Epstein’s schemes that would entice young underage girls to give him massages, during which he would sexually abuse and rape them.

Prince Andrew settled a sexual abuse lawsuit with Virginia Giuffre at the beginning of this year, who claimed she was trafficked and abused by Maxwell and Epstein.
