The Republican hysteria over the recent series of scandals surrounding President Biden’s highly troubled and equally controversial son Hunter Biden has appeared to officially reach of fever pitch of epic proportions, and newly-elected and struggling GOP House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has now begun to threaten impeachment proceedings against Biden Administration Attorney General and DOJ head Merrick Garland.
McCarthy’s grand and dramatic declaration came during his sit down with the crew of Fox & Friends this morning, where the panel wasted no time in turning the conversation to the recent deal cut between the US Department of Justice and the First Son, as well as the additional investigations that remain ongoing into Hunter Biden by federal officials. While the Fox panel ultimately ran the gambit of Biden-flavored complaints with the Republican Speaker of the House, their conversation and complaints mostly centered on the newly-ignited allegations that Hunter Biden pointedly invoked his father’s name and clout in an effort to demand payment from Chinese business partner. To add to that, IRS whistleblowers are additionally claiming that the US Department of Justice, under the Biden Administration, failed to authenticate the WhatsApp text message in which Hunter is alleged to have made this demand in a timely manner.
Fox talking head Brian Kilmeade cut right to the chase when he asked Speaker McCarthy if these new allegations would lead to impeachment proceedings against Attorney General Merrick Garland, pointing specifically to a tweet sent out by McCarthy Sunday morning, in which the House Speaker cited the new development of accusations against the president’s son to further push his claims of a “weaponized” DOJ — a talking point that’s long been utilized by the Right as a defense for scandal-ridden former President Trump.
We need to get to the facts, and that includes reconciling these clear disparities. U.S. Attorney David Weiss must provide answers to the House Judiciary Committee.
If the whistleblowers’ allegations are true, this will be a significant part of a larger impeachment inquiry into… https://t.co/Q3LLeJhW85
