With the upcoming impeachment vote scheduled to take place, the “president” is trying to shore up his base, and with that, he has turned the GOP into the party of Donald Trump. Although most Americans want Trump impeached and removed from office, Republicans have remained loyal to the former reality show star. After all, they’re getting what they’ve always wanted. Tax cuts for the wealthy, harmful deregulations, women’s rights are on the chopping block, and non-white children are being caged at the border. And all they had to sacrifice was allowing a vile, disgusting, corrupt, and immoral “man” to stay in power.
When Trump tweeted that the Democratic Party and media outlets are making life “difficult” for “the United Republican Party” as he faces impeachment, it was further confirmation that this “president” is the face of the GOP. But, Republican Nebraska state Sen. John McCollister jumped in to say, “There are Republicans ALL OVER the country who want you impeached,” then something unexpected happened.
McCollister called on Republican voters to speak out, and they did.
“United Republican Party?” No
There are Republicans ALL OVER the country who want you impeached. We don’t fall for some cult of personality. We’ve read the constitution.
If you are one of these Republicans, tell me why and I’ll retweet good replies #RepublicansForImpeachment

Conservatives piled in to voice frustration over Trump’s “presidency.”
Reoublican only, all my life. Never voted straight party though in any election. Trump is a stain on our country and abuses and embarrasses his office. Shame on Republicans who will vote no to impeachment. Never choose party over policy. This is why we’re in this shitty shape ..

Been a Republican my whole life. My oath I took to the Constitution outweighs any party, or cult member. To bad so many have forgotten that, or just out right don’t care.

I’m a 52 year old, college graduate, southern, conservative female.
Voted GOP my whole life, except 2016. Voted independent then. I will NEVER vote for Trump or anyone who supports him because I am Christian and I love my country.— Laura Daniel (@lpdaniel5) December 16, 2019
I am a Republican who supports the impeachment of Trump because what is at stake is our independence and self-determination, free and fair elections, the constitutional principle of the separation of powers and the rule of law.

I switch parties after 35+ yrs being a Republican- I had enough 8-9 months ago – NEVER AGAIN!!!

I’ve been a Republican longer than Trump. What he’s done to MY Party is a vile abomination, a self serving hijacking of our values, and purely for personal gain. Our Constitution is our anchor; he’s defiling it with elected Rep support. Shame on all them.

I was always a Republican leaning independent. Somehow I really believed I thought I aligned more with Republican values over all. Though this whole process I see than cannot be further than the truth. If Trump is the face of GOP values..then I want reconstructive surgery

As a REAL Republican that is for balancing the budget, limiting / not eliminating regulations, taxes that are fair and balanced for all, etc… I am also for getting this FAKE REPUBLICAN extreme radical right weirdo @realDonaldTrump out of office ASAP and ANY way that works.

I left the Party when Trump was nominated. I see no morality, wisdom, or kindness in it. PROVE ME WRONG, I beg you #Republicans 🙏

Same here from a 69 year old life long Republican that has been a registered Dem since 45 became president!

Been voting Republican at all levels for over 40 years. Voted for Trump thinking he would “drain the swamp”. Instead he filled the swamp w/ billionaires only interested in filling their pockets. He included himself in selling out our country for personal gain. Enough. #Impeach

Most of us are aware that after Trump is impeached, the Republican-led Senate will not convict the “president” — but it’s about doing the right thing. History will not be kind to the Republicans who remained supportive of the mad King, but there will be a few pages in the books to honor those who refused to allow a chaotic and openly corrupt “presidency” to continue to create havoc on our beloved republic.
