Donald Trump is continuing to bungle his response to the potentially deadly coronavirus that has gripped the world. The president told a group of governors on Monday that they should not wait for the federal government to fill the growing demand for respirators needed to help people who have contracted COVID-19, the New York Times reports. “Respirators, ventilators, all of the equipment — try getting it yourselves,” President Chucklefuck said.
With hospitals already overwhelmed, some of the governors were taken by surprise, given that states are already working overtime to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus and are hoping to get more federal aid to deal with the outbreak.
But, to Trump, the meeting went “very well,” and he took a shot at Governor Cuomo.
Just had a very good tele-conference with Nation’s Governors. Went very well. Cuomo of New York has to “do more”.

Cuomo on Tuesday laid out a targeted containment strategy to halt the spread of the virus, a move that should be used across the country. Governors have responded to the outbreak far better than the president has. The coronavirus has infected more than 3,000 Americans and killed roughly 70 people in the U.S., but the number has been exponentially increasing, so Governors have had to shut down theaters, restaurants, and bars.
Gov. Cuomo responded to Trump’s tweet:
I have to do more?
No — YOU have to do something! You’re supposed to be the President. https://t.co/tYeDt1lcOZ

Happy to do your job, too.
Just give me control of the Army Corps of Engineers and I’ll take it from there.https://t.co/nfjZ8xiRL4 https://t.co/YNvdHC3Xz3

This is why Trump is mad:
.@NYGovCuomo ran circles around you with his #coronavirus presser, you pitiful, propagandist, psychotic POS.

When Trump was asked about the possibility of a ventilator shortage during a press conference in the Rose Garden on Friday, the president said his advisers have recognized the demand, and are attempting to address the problem.
“We’re in the process, and in some cases have already done it, ordered a large number of respirators just in case,” Trump said. “We hope we don’t need them, but we’ve ordered a large number.”
Apparently, that was a lie. Trump seems to only move quickly and decisively if the coronavirus effects one of his properties.
