Donald Trump has spent the last handful of days scrambling to do what he should have been doing over the past months in regard to the deadly strain of coronavirus that’s now sweeping the world and quickly taking over in the United States.
Last week, he finally pulled his head out of his behind and declared a national emergency, at least opening up pathways for local governments to attempt to get a handle on this thing, almost assuredly for no other reason than his 70-some-odd-year-old heart couldn’t take another plummet in the stock market.
Frankly, it was the barest of minimums he could do and this nation will honestly be damn lucky if it’s even effective at this point, considering it came about two months too late.
However, we all know how Donald Trump and his over-inflated ego is — so it comes as absolutely no surprise that he’s expecting heaps of praise and gratitude for doing the one, single thing he had the responsibility to do and not an ounce more and he doesn’t want a single soul saying otherwise.
Despite the recent national emergency declaration, the Trump administration has overall done next to nothing to help this country combat the rapidly infiltrating virus — leaving local governments holding the proverbial bag when it comes to keeping their constituents safe and healthy.

As a result, Illinois governor J. B. Pritzker recently took to his Twitter account to air his grievances regarding the way Trump and his team have handled (or rather, not handled) this outbreak — as it seems Twitter is the only thing Donald Trump is willing to pay attention to.
“The crowds & lines O’Hare are unacceptable & need to be addressed immediately. @realDonaldTrump @VP since this is the only communication medium you pay attention to—you need to do something NOW,” the governor’s Twitter thread began.

These crowds are waiting to get through customs which is under federal jurisdiction

To the frustrated people trying to get home, I have spoken with the mayor and our Senators and we are working together to get the federal government to act to solve this.
We will do everything within our power to get relief.

The federal government needs to get its s@#t together. NOW.

Evidently, Donald and/or his staff were paying attention to Twitter after all, as PBS White House correspondent Yamiche Alcindor, has now reported that Pritzker received a rather angry call from the White House as a result of his social media post.
“J. B. Pritzker, governor of Illinois, says Trump administration seems ‘completely unprepared’ to deal with crowds at the airports,” Alcindor’s tweet reads. “He says after sending tweets below he got called by a White House staffer ‘yelling’ at him for sending the tweets below.”

It’s strikingly clear at this point that Donald Trump and his administration want this nation silenced and compliant — drinking the Kool-aide with a smile on our faces. And frankly, that’s terrifying.
