Graham’s Latest Move To Delay One Of Biden’s Confirmations May Save Trump From Trouble In Impeachment Trial

This makes me sick.

The majority of the Republican party is pretty damn desperate for that “unity” President Joe Biden has been preaching about. However, they’ve made clear that they want “unity” without justice or repercussions for the things they’ve done over the past four years — coming to a head with the January 6th insurrection against the Capitol building.

Leading the charge of these hypocritical Republicans is none other than South Carolina Senator and Trump sycophant supreme, Lindsey Graham.

Ever since the announcement was made regarding Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial in connection to the role he played in the January 6th attack, Graham has been downright desperate to save him. Lindsey was harping about the impeachment proceedings all over Twitter within moments of its announcement. Since then, Joe Biden has taken office and now it seems that Graham is trying to dismantle things from the inside out.

A “power-sharing agreement” that was reached between Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell allowed Graham to remain in his position as the head of the judiciary committee for an extra month. And it seems that Graham is using that month to try to save Donald’s ass by delaying the confirmation of Biden’s pick for Attorney General, Merrick Garland.

A report on the matter from The Daily Beast reads:

That possibly lengthy setback in installing leadership at the department is especially troubling to Democratic lawmakers and outside advocates—not only because they’re itching to get started on a new DOJ agenda, but because of the acute importance of its business at the moment. Among many other things, for example, the department is investigating and prosecuting the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol.”

Don’t doubt for even a second, Lindsey Graham knows exactly what he’s doing with this tactic.

Senator Chris Coons hit the nail on the head when he said, “They are trying to effectively investigate and respond to domestic terrorism. To have our country’s chief legal officer sidelined for weeks is needlessly harmful.”

The report goes on to add:

But the central frustration stems from the fact that Biden’s chosen team will be iced out of Main Justice during a pivotal moment for the agency. Many believe Garland is especially well-suited to this moment. As a former DOJ official himself, Garland oversaw the federal investigation into the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing and the prosecution of its perpetrator, Timothy McVeigh.Durbin has said ‘there is no person better qualified’ to lead the investigations and prosecutions stemming from Jan. 6 than Garland.”

Whatever Trump has on Graham, it must be good. Because the Senator has made it clear that, even as a private citizen, his loyalty lies with Donald Trump and Donald Trump alone. The American people be damned.
