Donald Trump’s existence is to merely serve as an attention sponge, and he already knows e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. Remember when you were a kid, and you thought you knew more than your parents, then you grew up and realized that you didn’t know shit? Well, that describes our 73-year-old president except he never grew up. That was obvious during his meeting with pharmaceutical executives at the White House on Monday as Donald Trump repeatedly asked if they could rush out a vaccine for coronavirus within the next few months and didn’t seem to comprehend what a clinical trial is.
“So you have a medicine that’s already involved with the coronaviruses, and now you have to see if it’s specifically for this,” Trump asked Daniel Day, CEO of Gilead Sciences, Inc. You can know that tomorrow, can’t you?”
CNN’s Jim Acosta said, “One theme at Trump meeting with Pharma officials and vaccine experts; Officials and experts in room are stressing to Trump that vaccines can’t be rushed on to the market quickly.”
Things didn’t get better from there. Trump has already been told this, but infectious diseases head Dr. Anthony Fauci had to explain the timeframe for a coronavirus vaccine to Mr. Presidementia again. Fauci had to stop Trump from throwing out the claim that the coronavirus vaccine would be available in two months.

Trump then made his way to hold a rally in North Carolina — and apparently, he didn’t listen to a word Fauci said:
“We had a great meeting today with a lot of the great companies, and they’re going to have vaccines I think relatively soon. And they’re going to have something that makes you better, and that’s going to actually take place we think even sooner” — Trump on the coronavirus pic.twitter.com/oujTse5Lnp

A pharmaceutical company can’t put a drug on the market and say, “Good luck!” without it being adequately tested first. This is something that Trump should already know. Trump had to be pulled in line several times today to stop him from repeating something that is false. We get it — Trump knows his reaction to the possible pandemic has been criticized, but he’s only making things worse by displaying his ignorance in front of the world.
