Donald Trump’s extrajudicial missile strike that resulted in the death of the leader of Iran’s Quds Force and his subsequent threats to target Iran’s culture sites has made Qassem Soleimania a martyr in an already divided nation. Instead of de-escalating the situation as his administration promised, Trump has been ramping up his violent rhetoric. Iran’s foreign minister, Javad Zarif, warned Trump on Twitter that targeting cultural sites in a war crime.

“Let this serve as a WARNING that if Iran strikes any Americans, or American assets, we have targeted 52 Iranian sites (representing the 52 American hostages taken by Iran many years ago), some at a very high level & important to Iran & the Iranian culture, and those targets, and Iran itself, WILL BE HIT VERY FAST AND VERY HARD,” Trump tweeted on Saturday from his Florida resort just after playing golf. “The USA wants no more threats!’

And now, Iran is promising a “crushing and powerful retaliation on American soil,” including the White House as they branded Trump as a “terrorist in a suit”‘ after he took to Twitter to threaten to attack 52 Iranian targets.

“We can attack the White House itself, we can respond to them on the American soil. We have the power, and God willing we will respond in an appropriate time,” said Iranian MP Abolfazl Abutorabi, according to the Iranian Labour News Agency, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Abutorabi added that “this is a declaration of war, which means if you hesitate you lose. When someone declares war do you want to respond to the bullets with flowers? They will shoot you in the head.”

Trump and his colleagues have defended the drone strike Friday that killed Iran’s number two official as “action… to stop a war,” while Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has referred to unspecified intelligence claiming Soleimani was planning an imminent attack, but there has been no evidence to substantiate that claim.

Trump’s inexperienced son-in-law Jared Kushner promised to bring peace to the Middle East so we’re just wondering where he is in all of this because Iran’s leaders have vowed to retaliate over the killing of Soleimani and they will target “military sites.”
