Over the past week or so, Donald Trump has seemingly run into mounting trouble among those who are supposed to be some of his staunchest allies and supporters within the Republican party.
We just reported that South Carolina’s Lindsey Graham, who’s been licking Trump’s boots for years and years now, publicly turned on the ex-president following Donald’s apparent promise to issue pardons to all of the January 6th Capitol riot participants should he manage to weasel his way back into the White House in 2024 — a claim he made at his Conroe, TX, MAGA rally over the weekend only to double-down on it once more during a Newsmax interview later in the week.
On top of that, Trump’s also facing down the ire of several of his allies over his recent endorsement of former State Department spokeswoman and Fox News contributor Morgan Ortagus in the impending Republican primary in Tennessee’s 5th congressional district.
And it’s only getting worse.

While I wouldn’t call KY senator and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell the staunchest of Trump allies, there’s no denying that he’s supported the corrupt ex-president on many an occasion, even when it blatantly went against the best interest of the American people McConnell took an oath to serve. The relationship between Mitch and Trump has only soured further since Trump’s White House departure, as Donald has felt like McConnell didn’t blindly follow the Big Lie in the way the former guy expects his party to do.
But now, whatever piece or part of a relationship that was left between the one-term, twice-impeached former guy and the Kentucky senator is officially no longer salvageable — at least, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough sure thinks so.
Speaking on his Morning Joe segment, the cable news host touched on the topic of McConnell’s recent opposition of Trump’s presidential pardon promise and theorized that Mitch is looking to expose the full truth about the January 6th Capitol riot, because he ultimately wants Donald Trump purged completely from the Republican party.
“It’s one thing that time and again, Mitch has been unambiguous about,” Scarborough explained. “That is that people that committed crimes on Jan. 6 should be punished, that Jan. 6 was an atrocity, and whatever Donald Trump is saying about Jan. 6 is not true. Again, he wants to empower the Jan. 6 commission — which, of course, he was against, bipartisan commission, which was a mistake. [Sen. Joe] Manchin thinks it was a mistake, a lot of people do, but he’s certainly gotten behind this one.”
“He wants the dirty truth told about Donald Trump because I think he wants Trump out of the party as much as, well, a lot of people,” the MSNBC host went on to add. “As much as [Rep.] Liz Cheney or some others.”
It seems to me everyone is just about done with Donald Trump.
