So-called “pro-life” Republicans have lost their damn minds with its new abortion ban in Texas, which immediately went into effect. The law bans all abortions— with no exceptions for rape or incest— as soon as a fetal heartbeat is detected — which is about six weeks after contraception when most women aren’t even aware they are pregnant. And there’s more. The law puts $10,000 bounties on the heads of women that choose to get an abortion and anyone that helps them. It basically entices neighbors and friends to turn on each other when a woman seeks an abortion. And women will still get abortions, but they won’t be medically safe.

On Thursday, President Joe Biden slammed the U.S. Supreme Court for refusing to block Texas’ abortion ban, and blasted the Texas Legislature for passing the bill, calling the new state law “a bizarre scheme” that “unleashes unconstitutional chaos and empowers self-anointed enforcers to have devastating impacts,” the Texas Tribune reports.

“This law is so extreme it does not even allow for exceptions in the case of rape or incest,” President Biden said in a written statement. “And it not only empowers complete strangers to inject themselves into the most private of decisions made by a woman — it actually incentivizes them to do so with the prospect of $10,000 if they win their case.”

Reporters asked White House press secretary Jen Psaki about Texas’s new ban.

“The effort and the focus of the federal government is to look for every resource, every level at our disposal to ensure that women in Texas have the ability to seek healthcare,” Psaki said.

Then, a reporter appeared to question Biden’s faith due to the president’s pro-choice stance.

“Why does the president support abortion when his own Catholic faith teaches abortion is morally wrong?” a reporter asked.

“He believes that it is a woman’s right, a woman’s body, her choice,” Psaki said. “He believes it is up to a woman to make those decisions and make those decisions with her doctor. I know you have never faced those choices, nor have you been pregnant. But for women out there who have faced those choices, this is an incredibly difficult thing in the president believes that their rights should be respected. Go ahead. I think we need to move on. You have had plenty of time today.”

Watch:

Uh…yeah, it’s a very personal choice for a woman. No woman wants to get an abortion. It’s not a fun time, like getting a mani or a pedi. It’s a deeply personal thing that only the woman can determine, not a mostly male legislature in Texas. And some of those women are victims of rape or incest. This law is about controlling women. Period!
