Donald Trump’s impeachment trial in the Senate has been nothing short of a massive mess, much like the first one. However, it seems that the Republican slime in the Senate is even more eager to protect their dear leader from the consequences of his actions than they were the first time, even now that he’s not even president anymore. So much so that, despite their oath to the people of the United States of America, they have been blatantly in cahoots with Donald’s Trump’s attorneys in what appears to be a not so veiled attempt to get their guy off the hook with the best defense they can come up with for inciting an insurrection at the Capitol building.
So blatant, in fact, the Trump’s personal lapdog himself, South Carolina senator Lindsey Graham was seen leaving the Senate floor right in the middle of the Trump impeachment trial to consult with the former president’s lawyers.
According to reports, three top Republican attorneys have been consulting with Trump’s impeachment defense team on their “legal strategy,” and evidently as today’s leg of trial was underway, with attorneys standing on the Senate floor making their arguments, Senator Graham walked off the floor and out of the trial to assist Donald’s legal team with their shaky defense.
Co-founder of Punchbowl News, John Bresnahan, reported that Trump’s attorneys “actually pulled him off floor.”

In addition to Graham, CNN’s Manu Raju reports that Senator Ted Cruz, who has also been involved in Trump’s defense strategy with his legal team, was spotted today as well.

I’m not sure if these senators have forgotten or just don’t care, but their obligation and responsibility is supposed to be with the American people that they took an oath to when they took office. However, it’s clear that they have no problem with showing us that they couldn’t care less about the people they’re sworn to.
