Liz Cheney has become a prime target for MAGA Republicans, facing not just political opposition but potential physical threats. The situation is striking, given the stark contrast to her father, Dick Cheney, who, as vice president under George W. Bush was once considered one of the most dangerous men in the world, largely due to his involvement in the Iraq War. Despite his notorious reputation, it’s surprising to see his daughter now on the receiving end of such intense hostility from Trump Republicans.

Cheney has only intensified her stance against the MAGA movement by officially endorsing Kamala Harris for president, putting herself squarely in their crosshairs.

Donald Trump, meanwhile, seems intent on turning this election into a brutal contest, especially if he doesn’t come out on top. His control over the Republican Party stems from his ability to intimidate, having effectively bullied many of its members into submission.

Trump likely draws inspiration from authoritarian leaders, using intimidation as a core strategyā€”especially when confronted by strong women like Cheney and Harris, who seem to threaten his fragile ego.

As more Republicans break ranks to support Harris, this growing movement should pose an existential threat to Trump. Yet, it doesn’t. If Trump manages to manipulate the election in his favor, he could silence his dissenters, just as dictators do. Cheney’s defiance in the face of this looming threat underscores her courage, making her a figure worthy of praise.
