Makers Of Lysol Respond To Trump’s Suggestion To Use Disinfectant To Treat COVID; They Did Not Hold Back

Oh dear, he's going to call them fake news, isn't he?

`Donald Trump unloaded a Mack truck full of stupid on us during his daily COVID-19 MAGA briefing meant to inform the American public on any updates in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The former reality show star suggested that injecting disinfectant in our bodies would be a good way to fight against the disease that has killed nearly fifty-thousand Americans, and left twenty-six million Americans unemployed as we shelter at home.

The president’s dangerous suggestion prompted Lysol and Dettol maker Reckitt Benckiser PLC to issue a statement on Friday morning to warn that “under no circumstance” should its disinfectant products be administered into the human body, through injection, ingestion or any other route, according to Bloomberg.

The company issued the statement after it was asked whether internal administration of disinfectants “may be appropriate for investigation or use as a treatment for coronavirus,” the outlet reports.

“As with all products, our disinfectant and hygiene products should only be used as intended and in line with usage guidelines,” Reckitt said in its statement on Friday.

Also, during the presser, Trump suggested using light and heat inside the body to cure the virus.

“Supposing we hit the body with a tremendous … whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light,” Dr. Trump said on Thursday. “And I think you said that hasn’t been checked, but you are going to test it.”

“And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in… some other way,” the president continued. “And I think you said you are going to test it.”

That theory left Dr. Deborah Birx confused because it’s a really stupid thing to say, that’s why.

We’re waiting for lighting companies to issue a statement, too. We here at Political Tribune are concerned about Trump supporters after just they likely spent last night mainlining Lysol and sticking a flashlight up their butts for their Tide Pods president. Be sure to let us know that you’re OK. And now you can never say that we don’t care.

And now, we know the reason why disinfectant bottles/cans need to have a warning label that says “Do not drink.”
