I saw a comment on a Facebook post here recently that said something to the effect of, “Congress is the rich, white man’s welfare.” And, honestly, it kind of made sense. These days, it seems as though Congress is a whole lot less about your qualifications in politics or your compassion and understanding for your constituents and a whole lot more about who you know and how crazy the platform you’re running on is — especially when it comes to the Republican side of the fence.
At the end of the day, members of both parties in Congress are making a staggering amount of tax-payer-funded money, while many of them aren’t actually doing a thing to care for those taxpayers. It’s turned into almost a get-rich-quick scheme for white people with a good name and even better friends.
The salary for any given member of the House of Representatives is currently sitting around $175,000 per year and it comes stock with tons of other little perks ranging from a free gym and free parking to lax inside trading restrictions — a mind-boggling difference from the $51,916.27 average annual salary and $34,248.45 median annual salary of Americans in 2019, as reported by PolicyAdvice.net, all while we have to pay for parking and follow the rules.
And, as we’ve seen with numerous Congressmen and women over the years, having that much money at your disposal certainly allows you the privilege to waste it on absolutely stupid things.

Recently, Axios reporter Andrew Solender took to Twitter and revealed that none other than Q’s golden child, Marjorie Taylor Greene, has racked up a staggering amount of fines, totaling around $48,000 (about 27.43 percent of her annual Congressional salary), for refusing to wear a mask when on the House floor.
“House Sergeant-at-Arms tells Marjorie Taylor Greene she’s been observed violating the House floor mask mandate 21 times since May, accruing 20 fines totaling $48,000. Greene’s blatant disregard not only puts her stupidity on full display, for refusing to follow regulations that are put in place quite literally for her own protection as well as those around her, but also her clear cut privilege, in that she can afford to dispose of nearly 30 percent of her income for something so downright idiotic.
Of course, this is far from the first or only instance of Greene’s blatant disregard for much of anything but herself. She recently appeared on Steve Bannon’s show, where she discussed vaccine mandates and ultimately told the Conservative talking head, “I’m not getting the vaccine because I’m an American. I can choose what I want to do with my body. I have the freedom to decide if I want to get a vaccine or not get a vaccine.”
