Recently, the bombshell news broke that controversial Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene’s 27-year marriage is effectively over, after her husband, 50-year-old Perry Greene, officially filed for divorce from the Republican Party’s biggest stooge.

According to legal documents obtained and reviewed by the popular tabloid, TMZ, 50-year-old Perry Greene mosied his way on up to the courthouse on Tuesday of this week, where he officially filed for divorce from his wife, 48-year-old Marjorie Taylor Greene, effectively beginning the process of dissolving their marriage that last just short of three decades.

Marjorie and Perry were married in August of 1995, while the to-be-lawmaker was still in college at the University of Georgia. Perry shares three children with the controversial, ultra Right-wing, QAnon congresswoman, Lauren, Taylor, and Derek, all of whom are now over the age of 18.

Thus far, no details have been made public in regard to the reason for the couple’s split. However, in the legal documents obtained and reviewed by TMZ Marjorie’s husband alleges that the pair had previously been separated for an undisclosed amount of time. Perry is now seeking a full dissolution of the marriage and is calling on the court to divvy up both their assets and their debts equally between the two of them.

However, according to explosive reporting from The New Yorker‘s Charles Bethea, the sordid details of Marjorie and Perry Greene’s “irretrievably broken” marriage may go public sooner than we thought, as Bethea now reports that MTG’s soon-to-be ex-husband has apparently had a change of heart and has now withdrawn his motion to put the couple’s divorce proceedings under seal — a move that could ultimately publicize the “why” behind the dissolution of the Greenes’ marriage.

When Perry Greene’s decision to file for divorce originally went public, he reportedly requested that the proceedings remain under seal in an effort to prevent potentially “negative” personal information from going public. But now it seems something has changed his mind.

Also in the original filing, the Greenes’ marriage is described as “irretrievably broken” and makes note of the fact that the couple of almost 3 decades had been separated for some time prior to Perry’s decision to file for divorce — although the filing does stress their claim that the split is in amicable one.

Congresswoman Greene has since released a statement on the news, saying, “Marriage is a wonderful thing and I’m a firm believer in it. Our society is formed by a husband and wife creating a family to nurture and protect. Together, Perry and I formed our family and raised three great kids. He gave me the best job title you can ever earn: Mom. I’ll always be grateful for how great of a dad he is to our children.”

She went on to echo Perry’s calls for privacy amid their divorce, stating, “This is a private and personal matter and I ask that the media respect our privacy at this time.”

Amid their divorce proceedings, details of Marjorie’s multiple torrid affairs have surfaced.
