Once again, Donald Trump tried to reach out to suburban women on Tuesday evening, but this time he promised to get their husbands “back to work” if he’s reelected. And folks, that wasn’t much better than when Trump previously said he wants “suburban housewives” to like, and vote for, him. It’s 2020, and there’s no such thing as “housewives” anymore. There are, however, stay at home mothers and fathers.
Trump is so out of touch that he doesn’t realize that women are a big part of the workforce, too. Things have changed a little bit since the 50s, and as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said, he’s “completely removed from the realities of life.” And Pelosi added a few statistics that show that women are hurting amid the raging pandemic, too. And women have lost their jobs due to Trump’s mishandling of the national crisis. Trump’s message makes it clear that he can’t see or acknowledge the people that are hurting financially and otherwise.
“What century is he living in?” Pelosi asked. “So completely removed from the realities of life — and that has caused death.”

The unemployment rate is through the roof, and it’s going to get worse with an anti-masker super-spreader president at the helm while most Americans are still sheltering at home. Of course, Trump’s supporters aren’t taking the disease seriously either because they’re following their leader instead of science. And because of Trump, this country will remain in chaos until we put someone in charge that is capable of listening to the experts.
In September 2020, the national unemployment level of the U.S. stood at about 12.58 million unemployed persons — and that includes women. Frankly, Trump insulted women long before he was elected into office, but this is just more of the same as if we aren’t part of society — as if we aren’t part of the workforce. It would probably shock Trump to know that not all women are married.
