‘Never Leaves His Side’: Trump Aide Sparks Debate Over Striking Resemblance To Ivanka

Natalie Harp stepped off Air Force One in New Jersey on Friday wearing a maroon floral dress, her hair pulled into an updo, hands full with two laptops, four phones and an oversized red bag. Trump was heading to his Bedminster golf club for the weekend, and Harp made the walk down the stairs smiling for the cameras.

X noticed the outfit immediately, and not for the reasons Harp probably intended.

The theory has history behind it.

Back in June, a side-by-side photo of Harp and Ivanka, matching red dresses, identical blonde part, same shade of lipstick, circulated widely, and one user got straight to it: “Oh crap. She IS trying to look like Ivanka.”

The nickname that stuck afterward, “Dollar Store Ivanka,” has followed her ever since.

In mid-July, at a FIFA reception in Trump Tower, Harp showed up in pink lace, and the same question resurfaced. “Why does she look like Ivanka?” one person asked. “Aww, Ivanka’s replacement… that’s nice,” another wrote.

What makes people take the comparison seriously isn’t just the wardrobe. It’s what’s been reported about her actual role.

The Haberman and Swan book Regime Change describes Harp leaving personal notes in Trump’s private quarters before she’d officially joined his staff, including one that read “You are all that matters to me” and another that said “I don’t ever want to let you down.” Chief of Staff Susie Wiles reportedly found the notes and had one reaction: “Where am I?”

Trump, according to the book, told his own staff that Harp, unlike everyone else, “will never leave me,” adding: “All of you will go off and make money.” The authors also claim he’s turned to her at times to push back on Cabinet officials over trade figures he wanted framed more favorably.
