New Report Claims Capitol Rioter Is Pathetically Begging That Judge Moves His Case Out Of Washington D.C. Because The People There Like President Biden Too Much, Leaving The Jury In His Trial Tainted

According to a rather hilarious report from the Sacramento Bee, one California man who was heavily involved in the January 6th Capitol attack is now all but begging a judge to move his trial from Washington D.C. to Michigan, of all places, all because the folks in D.C. have a lot of love for President Joe Biden and he and his attorney feel that it could result in a tainted jury on his case.

Sean Michael McHugh is currently being held as a danger to the community in a D.C. jail, facing a total of eight felony and two misdemeanor counts after he was accused of using bear spray to assault Capitol police officers, and now he’s scared to death that the people of Washington D.C., who will go on to make up his panel of jurors, are guaranteed to hold him accountable for his crimes because they have a soft spot for the president, and most of them voted for him.

“The government has characterized the events of January 6 – including the attempted obstruction in which the government alleges Mr. McHugh participated – as an attack on our elections, government institutions generally, and democracy as a whole, (and) suggest that those District residents closely connected to the government are more likely to view themselves as the direct victims of the events,” McHugh’s attorneys argued. “Second, even District residents that have no direct connection to the government reported feeling deeply traumatized by the events that took place so close to where they live and work.”

Lawyers for the January 6th defendant went on to argue that McHugh is already at a serious disadvantage in his trial for the simple fact that he’s a supporter of ex-President Donald Trump because 92 percent of people in D.C. voted for Joe Biden in the 2020 election.

“According to the government’s theory of the case, Mr. McHugh and the others charged in connection with January 6 did what they did in order to prevent Joseph Biden from becoming President notwithstanding his share of the electoral and popular vote,” the legal team wrote in their argument. “That is, the government’s theory is that Mr. McHugh and others were seeking to nullify the votes of an overwhelming majority of District residents – in the only national election in which District residents have any say, given their lack of representation in Congress.”

“As such, the residents of the District sitting as jurors are highly likely to view Mr. McHugh not only as someone who victimized them, but also as someone who might victimize them again in the future, raising a concern about punishing for propensity,” McHugh’s attorney’s claimed.

“Given the electoral makeup of the District, it would be impossible to empanel a jury that was not full of people that the government charges were the targets of Mr. McHugh’s alleged offenses.”

Funny how the bootstrap folks suddenly want some special treatment, huh?
