Things continue to get worse for scandal-ridden former President Donald Trump, as a bombshell new report from the New York Times confirms that Trump’s infamous former strategist and White House adviser Kellyanne Conway has formally met with prosecutors who are working with the Manhattan District Attorney’s office in connection to their ongoing investigation into her old boss.
The explosive and frankly damning development comes as Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg — who has been under intense pressure and backlash for a perceived lack of action against the ex-president — attempts to breathe new life into his investigation regarding the infamous $130,000 alleged hush money payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels, through his now former personal attorney and self-described “fixer” Michael Cohen, in an effort to buy Daniels’ silence regarding her alleged affair with Donald Trump. Trump and his campaign were desperate to keep the affair hidden amid his 2016 presidential campaign.
Sean Piccoli, Jonah E. Bromwich, Ben Protess, and William K. Rashbaum report for the Times, “Mr. Cohen has said that Ms. Conway played a small yet notable role in the payment: It was she whom Mr. Cohen told that the payment had been made, he wrote in his 2020 memoir. ‘I called Trump to confirm that the transaction was completed, and the documentation all in place, but he didn’t take my call — obviously a very bad sign, in hindsight,’ he wrote. Instead, he wrote, Ms. Conway ‘called and said she’d pass along the good news.'”
“Ms. Conway, who was seen walking into the district attorney’s office shortly before 2 p.m. on Wednesday, is the latest in a string of witnesses to meet with prosecutors in the last month or so,” the bombshell report further confirms. “Since the district attorney, Alvin L. Bragg, impaneled a grand jury in January to hear evidence about Mr. Trump’s role in paying the hush money, at least five witnesses have testified: Jeffrey McConney and Deborah Tarasoff, employees of Mr. Trump’s company; David Pecker and Dylan Howard, two former leaders of The National Enquirer, which helped arrange the hush money deal; and Keith Davidson, a former lawyer for Ms. Daniels.”

Cohen pleaded guilty and was subsequently jailed back in 2018 on charges of bank fraud, tax evasion, and illegal campaign finance actions in connection to the same incident. Cohen was sentenced to 3 years in prison and was released in 2021. The former Trump attorney has since come out in full force as a staunch detractor against his old boss and continues to work with prosecutors across the board in their range of investigations into Donald Trump.
Bragg recently concluded a separate investigation by his office into the former president’s family company, the Trump Organization, with an indictment, a plea deal with the company’s longtime CFO Allen Weisselberg in exchange for his testimony, and an insultingly low fine against the business itself, but once again, Trump came out unscathed on a personal level. However, the newly ignited hush money investigation once again opens the door to possible personal prosecution for Donald J. Trump.
