It seems the controversial Colorado Congresswoman that everyone loves to hate these days, Right-wing Republican Lauren Boebert, got a little too rowdy during a Republican fundraising event not too long ago, resulting in “raised eyebrows” at her behavior as servers had to refuse her more booze and Donald Trump’s security detail had to make her stop taking incessant selfies with the ex-president.
The embarrassing news came from CNN’s Melanie Zanona, who just recently reported on Lauren’s inappropriate behavior at the New York Young Republican Club’s annual gala back in December of 2023, as part of a larger report on the multitude of reasons why the congresswoman’s desperate bid for reelection is severely suffering, due to this ongoing pattern of blatant self-sabotage on Boebert’s part.
“At the December soiree, which was the New York Young Republican Club’s annual gala, multiple witnesses saw a server tell Boebert they would not bring her any more alcohol, with one witness telling CNN the server told the congresswoman they believed she had been overserved,” Zanona reported this morning.
The report goes on to add:
Throughout the night, Boebert also kept attempting to snap selfies with Trump, who was sitting at the same table as her. Eventually, Trump’s security detail stepped in and asked Boebert to stop, according to the witnesses, who attended the event and saw the interaction take place.”

The few allies Bobert has left were quick to jump to her defense, telling CNN that Lauren’s “boisterous and loud personality can sometimes be misconstrued, especially by people who don’t know her well.”
Zanona did note that Lauren’s unsavory behavior at the December event apparently didn’t perturb Donald Trump too much, as he threw his full and total endorsement behind her congressional reelection campaign in the end. The endorsement certainly helped to bolster her campaign, but frankly, we’re just not sure it will be enough when the chips finally fall.
Boebert infamously made a desperate district switch in the immediate aftermath of CO Rep. Ken Buck’s retirement late last year, hoping that she could land herself in a more deeply conservative district with voters who are more likely to put up with her antics and still cast a vote in her favor.
But, as noted by Zanona’s report, her victory, even in the new district, is far from secure. “Boebert still has to prevail in the packed primary in June,” she writes. “Nearly a dozen Republican candidates have jumped into the race, though not all of them may appear on the ballot in June and only half a dozen are considered serious contenders. And sources close to Boebert believe a more crowded field of rivals may actually benefit Boebert by splitting up the rest of the vote.”
