Pence Was Caught On Hot Mic Joking About Impeachment With Israeli PM

Yikes!

The hashtag “#PresidentPence” has been trending all over Twitter this morning as the Senate impeachment trial of Donald Trump continues to truck right along. And now it seems that Vice President Mike Pence himself might be a little keener on the idea than he’s been letting on after he was caught on a hot mic cracking jokes with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with Donnie’s impeachment trial serving as the punchline.

While attending the Fifth World Holocaust Forum at Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center in Jerusalem — because evidently that’s an appropriate place to crack a few funnies for these people — several cameras captured the room full of world leaders giving one another friendly greetings as the Holocaust remembrance program was about to begin. As the announcer urged the attendees to take their seats Prime Minister Netanyahu came up to the US Vice President and gave Pence a handshake and a hug.

Netanyahu asked Pence, “How are you?” followed by another remark we couldn’t quite pick up before Mike gave a laugh and stated, “We are contending. He’s unstoppable.” Adding, “Like somebody else I know” — likely a reference to Netanyahu’s continued hold on his position of power in spite of numerous, explosive scandals under his reign.

While Mike’s quip wasn’t necessarily an outright snub of Trump, the fact that he’s cracking jokes about the whole ordeal at all kind of speaks for itself.

For one, a president with a list of transgressions longer than their shoe-lifted leg ain’t exactly a joking matter. For two, something tells me Donnie’s not real fond of any jokes that involve his name that he’s not telling.

After all, he is a sensitive little thing. And Trump’s been struggling to trust his right-hand man for some time now as it is. Something tells me this ain’t the time for Pence to be doing anything more than nodding and waving.
